Ratings for Dr. Neal D. Bhatia
I had a little eczema and needed an ointment. I saw him and he prescribed several Rx's. When I went to pick them up, the pharmacist warned me the 2 would cost over $800! I still have one of them as I refused them both. I then called his nurse but she wasn't available, she'd "call back". I called no less than 4 or 5 times with the "she'll call back". Never did. I went back to the pharmacy and asked the pharmacist what I could do. He sold me a $4 tube of Hydrocortisone. Case closed.
He was instantly dismissive of my fathers complaints and never took the time to hear the FULL history of what had been going on with his condition, an undiagnosed scalp and hair follicle condition. The doc seemed to be in a hurry. Actually told us to not research his condition on the internet, as if we were incapable and unintelligent. Why do we research? Because no other doc has helped my dad in the six years that his symptoms have been severe...seen about 12 docs. Guess what, we found this doc in our research and went to him because he had written papers on symptoms like my dad was experiencing. He never suggested biopsy, skin scraping, any diagnostics. My dad flew 5 hours to see this doc! What a colossal waste of time and money it was to see this uncaring doctor! Doc didn't give appropriate time to review records of medicines already tried or even hear out all the symptoms of my dads rare condition. Don't waste your money on this doc! $75 + $600 plane ticket wasted!
Not knowledgeable compared to other dermatologists I've seen. Extremely late. After I waited for him for 1-2 hours, he spent 5 minutes with me, trying to rush me out of his office. I handed him my question sheet but he didn't even read it and answer only 2 out of the 4 questions I had on the sheet. Worst dermatologist visit I've had.
I was the first appointment after lunch. I waited 1 hour while Dr. Bhatia finished his staff meeting. On another visit I was the first appointment of the morning. This time I waited 50 minutes. The nurse arrived for work 20 minutes after my appointment was to begin. The charge for his services was outrageous and the treatment was not effective. This was an extremely bad medical experience - very unprofessional. Not one did anyone apologize for keeping me waiting.
He helped me with my skin problems but at a high cost. I had twenty minutes with him and he charged the insurance company $265 for the visit and $570 for 5 minutes of cryogenic treatment to spots on my hands and two warts. He was generous with advice and samples and I do feel I have been helped but he used a third of my family's annual health care reimbursement account in one visit. I was happy he cancelled my followup appointment to attend a conference when I had seen the EOB from the insurance company. I plan to ask him to amend his charges, but will not see him again unless I have an idea how much the visit will cost. This isn't Hollywood, Doc, this is Milwaukee! Of course there's no surprise that his employer is Aurora.
