Ratings for Dr. Lesley M. Fernow
Dr. Fernow was the most compassionate, cooperative doctor I have ever met. She helped me so much emotionally dealing with my father's dementia and subsequent passing. She also was on board prescribing only what was needed. I felt she treated him not just as a number. She helped my father live out his last days in comfort at his home, and for that I am so grateful.
Missed a breast cancer until it grew to Stage III, then tried to shift blame onto the home caregiver. Improperly recommended dangerous home care biopsies and other inappropropriate chemotherapeutic treatments for it. Also missed another diagnosis, and refused family's repeated requests for treatment, blaming the family for being "obsessed" with the diagnosis, later confirmed to be absolutely correct by the laboratory. Family and patient suffered for months due to her arrogance and lack of knowledge about that missed diagnosis. Tried to bill the family privately for $250 for "psychotherapy" for their "obsession" with the torturous condition whose diagnosis the doctor missed and refused to treat for months. Changed a medication to a non-equivalent generic and non-equivalent dose without any discussion or consent of the family, resulting in destabilization and exhausting work to restabilize the situation. Neglected to show for a critical appointment -forgot and "dropped the ball"
