Biography

Dr. William Nutting is a partner with the Michigan Institute of Urology. He has practiced in the Dearborn-Downriver communities since 1988. His hospital affiliations include Oakwood Hospital Dearborn, Henry Ford Wyandotte hospital, and Oakwood Southshore Medical center. Dr. Nutting is a member of the Wayne County Medical Society, the Michigan State Medical Association,, American Urology Association, America Society of Clinical Urology and is certified by the American Board of Urologists. Dr. Nutting grew up in Traverse City. He attended Butler University in Indianapolis for his undergraduate studies. He went on to attend Wayne State Medical School from 1975-1979. Internal Medicine was his first calling but he soon realized he enjoyed the surgical aspects of caring for people and transitioned to Urology. Dr. Nutting graduated from the Wayne State University Urology Program in 1984. He spent the next 4 years honing his skills in North Carolina and then returned to open his current practice in his home state of Michigan. Dr. Nutting provides a very comprehensive urology practice and specializes in adult and geriatric care, the treatment of kidney, bladder and prostate cancer and male infertility. He has great experience in treating voiding disfunction including male and female incontinence and interstitial cystitis. His practice includes a full range of treatments for kidney stones encompasing laser, lithotripsy, ESWL and percutaneous nephrosto lithotomy. Dr Nutting also specializes in medical and surgical treatment for erectile dysfunction including penial prostheseis Dr. Nutting has performed over 3,500 vasectomies. He was recently awarded the “Press Ganey” award with a personal ranking in the 99th percentile of patient satisfaction. The good doctor finds great reward in giving care and finding solutions for his patients problems. In his time away from the office he enjoys being with his family, biking, kayaking, boating and gardening. Dr. Nutting is now accepting new patients.
