I left Dr. Tupa after I was forced to sign a Controlled Medication Contract, although I had been with him for a short time. Even though the Rx pertains to a FDA approved med for insomnia, it was either sign or get none of my other non controlled meds renewed. I signed. The 1st paragraph reads as follows: I will only get my controlled medications from this office. This means that I will NOT accept a Rx for controlled medication from my dentist, the ER, or any provider UNLESS it's arranged AHEAD OF TIME with this office. So imagine that it's the weekend; it's 2a.m.; the ER doctor goes strictly by the book; he/she can't get a hold of Dr. Tupa so I'm refused treatment. By morning my condition is worse or I'm dead. What would you do? I left for another doctor who isn't hung up on a single controlled med.
