Ratings for Dr. Gregory Barme
I saw him one month ago. Scheduled a follow up visit for 10-7-16, I drive 45 min to get to his office to find the door locked. I called the staff they said he left at noon, and hung up on me. I called back and asked if they would let me in so we could figure this out, they said no. I asked if I could get a copy of my records the staff said no, the doctor must review them first so I left, and will not return.
I had been told by 2 other urologists that I needed surgery but Dr. Barme said that was a last resort and he wanted to try other techniques first. I was glad I went to see him because he was honest with me and didn't try to schedule unnecessary surgery just to make money.
Dr Barme made a very stressfull procedure a non event. Explains everything before during and after. The worse part of the whole procedure was the initial pin prick of the anethstesia. After that everything was a walk in the park. For me, no painkillers were needed after the procedure. 100% recommend this guy!!!
I went to Dr. Barme for a vasectomy a week ago and had about the best experience I could have hoped for. I was incredibly nervous, but he took the time to explain everything and put me at ease. I was amazed that there was absolutely no bruising or swelling after the procedure. I only took one vicodin afterward and then was able to switch to Advil since there was just minor discomfort. I dreaded the procedure for years and now wonder why I waited so long. Thank you Dr. Barme for making something that I had dreaded into the best possible scenario. I would recommend you to anyone.
Dr. Barme is that rare physician with a gentle touch and a caring soul. He brought me to tears with his caring words as he told me my anal warts were too large to operate on. But, his comforting words gave me hope that I would one day have a vibrant sex life again. Thank you Dr. Barme.
Dr. Barme has been my doctor ever since Dr. Ravera retired (since 2004?). I find him to be very personable and compassionate which is especially important in the field of urology. He is very good about calling with test results and sensitive in his discussions of the results. I would certainly recommend him to others with prostate of urinary issues. I hope he has a long and successful career which can only be positive for his patients.
Dr. Barme really helped me with a serious personal and private problem I had. His staff was courteous and made me feel very much at home in an otheriwse uncomfortable offce setting (a urologist). He evaluated me, operated on me, and fixed the problem. He is truly a skilled surgeon and has a great reputation at Hoag Hospital. I have recommended friends to see him and have gotten similar feedback from them. What a pleasant surprise and breath of fresh air in a sea of mediocre doctors.
I had a good experience seeing this doctor. He was professional and very knowledgeable. He inspected my problem right away, asked good questions that showed he understood why I was seeing him. He took the time to explain things to me at an adult level. The only concern I was left with, was that he was very reassuring, which sometimes leaves me wondering if the doctor is really trying to find out if there is a problem, or just wants to make me feel better. Anyways he did send me to a couple of thorough tests, at good clinics. In the end he was right about there being no problem. Another great thing about him is he personally called me to tell me the results and didn't expect I make another appointment (taking time out of my day, plus another co-pay) to give me the results.
