Ratings for Dr. John M. Laurain
Great doctor with friendly staff. He is one of the few doctors who seems knowledgeable and understanding. I could tell that he actually reviewed my medical records, which most doctors don't, and he spent enough time with me to address my concerns. The wait time was minimal compared to other internal medicine doctors I have seen.
Absolutely NO follow through. Inappropriate behavior, discusses himself & other patients in detail . Inability to schedule specialized apts, communicate with other physicians, read hospital reports, and staff is worthless. Plan on managing your own health care if you see this individual. If you get sick this is not someone to sign up with. Also likes to add what other individual stated, he blames others for mistakes. IE: tests not being scheduled, messages lost, etc.
Has been most helpful with treatment for my Mom (88yo). always responds to pages, always makes room to see her, always respectful, professional and compassionate. Consistently provides superb care, precise directions for care & extremely useful references to HomeCare agencies, etc. His office staff mirrors his work ethic. Dr. John is a blessing as a physician.
Did not respond to phone messages or pager then blamed others for failure to respond. Did not respond to hospital for several hours. Would not alter diagnoses and treatment even after mounting evidence was contrary to original diagnoses. Seemed more interested in "being right" than reconsidering diagnoses and treatment. Poor beside manner with inappropriate joking.
Refused to listen to other doctors per my condition and even reports from Trauma Center in PA. Refused to acknowledge condition of Refractory Lyme's Disease and treat accordingly which has caused me to become totally disabled with multiple life problems including parasitic involvement of spine with loss of movement, neuropathy, stroke, congestive heart failure, and paralysis, as well as other related health conditions. Would not change medicines or treat per recommendations of other specialists. Did not follow-up on issues noted on MRI's and Blood Reports. Nor did he respond to request from another specialist to see me immediately when my potassium was very low and required hospitalization by the other speicalist. Discharged me saying I was too probematic in requiring care from his staff and he through certified mail. Would not release copies of my medical records which caused me over 300.00 in lawyers fees to procure them.
