She received her undergraduate degree from Stanford University in California and her medical degree from Baylor College of Medicine in Texas where she was awarded the Lemmon ob/gyn Student Award. She did her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Minnesota and received an award for Best Research paper "Attitude and Knowledge of Norplant Between Teenage and Adult Women". She did elective training time in pediatric gynecology at the University of Tennessee at Memphis under Dr. David Muram. She then went into private practice in St. Paul Minnesota where she had a mixed adult and pediatric ob/gyn practice for 8 years. At St. Paul Children's Hospital, she was a clinical instructor in pediatric gynecology and worked closely with the pediatric subspecialists. In 1998, she and a co-surgeon in pediatric surgery performed the first laparoscopy on an infant under two years of age in the region to remove a twisted ovary. In 2003 in New York, Dr. Regard began her pediatric and adolescent gynecology only practice with Boston Children's Health Physicians affiliated with Maria Fareri Children's Hospital. She is actively involved in research and teaching at New York Medical College as a Clinical Assistant Professor and regularly presents at National and Regional meetings. Her special interests are endometriosis in teenagers, early ovarian failure, paraovarian cysts in overweight girls, and ovarian dermoid tumors. Dr. Regard believes that most disorders unique to pediatric gynecology benefit tremendously from a specialist in the field to educate parents appropriately on the available treatment options and when necessary network with other specialists in the region and sometimes the nation to get optimal results. In addition, to the very specialized issues she enjoys providing well gynecology care and prevention counseling for adolescent girls.
