Ratings for Dr. Richard H. Silberman
I had an appointment for an EMG with this rude doctor October 18, 2012. My results were never sent to the attending doctor after almost 2 weeks. I was able to get a faxed report sent to PT office yesterday, October 30. I don't understand with everything being electronic why first it hadn't been sent and why would it take so long. As far as I know, my doctor still hasn't received the report as of today but I will hand carry it to my appointment next week. I found this doctor to be very rude and had an overall poor 'bedside manner.' He didn't intoduce himself when he came into the room so I asked the tech (which was very nice) what his name was. They gave me a survey to fill out but I lost it somewhere but had every intention of filling it out and giving my opinions of him. I wonder whether he'll even be made aware of these reviews of his ill manners and just overall arrogance! Will NOT go back to him if I need surgery.
I went to him in October 2010 when the pain I had been having in my neck and back started making my right side go numb..long story short...after several expensive tests...a few visits to him and his "bedside manner" and no relief in sight for me I went to a different doctor who immediately found out what was wrong..I have a herniated disc which is very visible in my MRI Dr. Silberman ordered...guess he didnt have time to look it over...just gave me his diagnosis and was pretty much like deal with it...He is a horrible dr and I wish I wouldve researched him better before seeing him
DO NOT SEE - EXTREMELY RUDE! During Dad's hospitalization for a heart attack, Dad had a stroke & this Dr. was assigned & gave us 3 treatment options: A. Do nothing B. Blood thinners to dissolve clot but do so slowly to minimize risk of fatal bleeding or C. Give blood thinner quickly to dissolve the clot fast to minimize brain damage even though this increases risk of death. Dr. refused to recommend an option or say what he'd do if it were his Dad. I asked which option had best outcome statistically & he wouldn't say. We chose option C figuring it was better to risk death to end up less disabled. Three days passed with no update from Dr. We got to hospital 6 a.m. & waited & Dr. said he had no time for us. Mom said "I know you're busy" and Silberman snarled, "NO, you DON'T KNOW!" For yrs. he had Dad see him every 3 months but didn't physically examine Dad. Just asked a couple questions, told us about his last vacation & took the Medicare checks so we dumped this jerk of a doctor.
Perhaps Dr. Silberman''s lack of Board Certification - AFTER 19 YEARS of PRACTICE? - should be a warning to all: SEE SOMEONE ELSE. By far, the most condescending, inconsiderate, ego-maniac we ever encountered. Go to Chicago. Don''t waste your time. AFTER he opened up the floor for questions and we thought he truly meant we could ask questions he said: "Don''t shoot me, I''m just the messenger". JERK says it all. GO TO CHICAGO where egos are left at the door.
