Loved the eye exam. Very knowledgeable and friendly. Answered all of my questions, was very patient and spent 30+ minutes with me. Has a new instrument that takes a picture of the eye that he shows you afterwards and he explains everything he is looking for. Would highly recommend.
I got a new Rx early this year from dr. Kubo but waited a few months after to order them. When I finally went back there a few months later to order my Rx glasses, I got a most unwelcome stare from Dr. Kubo. I actually smiled upon seeing him but instead got a 'what are you doing here" stare. Even if he did not recognized me as bis patient, I still deserve a warm welcome since I am there to do business. I am Asian to too. The receptionist named Jackie was unhelpful and with a negative attitude. When I first arrived she was seated in the counter not on a chair. She had a frown when she saw me come in. The way she assisted me with the adjustment of mynew Rx glasses, seemed forced. Unprofessional.
I am a physician, so very picky about my doctors. He is phenomenal. I would see him (and do) over an ophthalmologist. Thorough, thoughfuful, excellent diagnostician.. Who would of guessed with an office at JCO Penny?, but it is clear he is interested in providing excellent care--and not as interested in having a fancy office. If only more doctors were like him.
I have been going to Dr. Kubo for over 10 years. I would follow him if he were to ever move he is that good. I have referred him to family and friends. If you need a good eye doctor you should give him a try. Very nice and professional, if I have questions he always takes the time to answer them and never makes me feel like we need to rush.
HORRIBLE!!!!!! I have been a patient of Dr. Kubo for YEARS!!! I ran out of contacts and asked that I purchase a box. Fred told me, the Doctor said my prescription had expired. I know it didn't, so I called my insurance company and they informed me it had not, so they called Dr Kubo to assist me. Dr. Kubo still refuse to budge. I asked for a sample pair until I could get an appointment and Dr. Kubo was still unwilling to help me. I can't believe he would treat a patient, that has been going to him years in such a manner. He would not even take my call to talk to me. Lens Crafter took my precription and filled it immeadiatly and even had them in stock!!! I have never wrote a review before, but I had to on this case.
