Ratings for Dr. William S. Hutton
Dr. Hutton is wonderful with my 3 boys that still attend pediatricians. If your child is sick the staff will try to get you in same day if needed with Dr. Hutton or one of his associates. He tries to give samples if your insurance won't cover a script or if you have limited funds. He is very knowledgeable and takes time to answer any questions you might have I recommend him to all of my friends that are having babies
I have a 6 year old and a 3 year old and where as some kids dread going to see the doctor, my kids like Dr. Hutton and don't mind the visits. He is usually able to make them smile even though they are feeling lousy. I have been very impressed with the health care that Children's Health Center provides and have recommended Dr. Hutton to many of my close friends.
We have found Dr. Hutton to be very knowledgeable. We moved to the area 4 years ago and one of our children has an unusual neurological condition. We discussed this at her first well visit and not only was he aware of the condition (our pediatrician and specialist in MI weren't as up on it), but referred us to an EXCELLENT specialist in Tacoma. We learned more in that visit than we had in the previous 2 years. For the area, Grays Harbor, which isn't a major city he brings his past big city (Dallas) experience, but with a very small town way about him. The office staff is AWESOME, and in the past year or so he has shared office space with two additional doctors which is great during cold and flu season. We can usually get in with in a day or two if we are willing to see which ever doctor has an opening. That is a big help when you have a sick kid (or 4 sick kids).
My sons doctor was not available so we were scheduled with Dr Hutton. My son was very sick a while back he took every precaution ordering chess xrays blood work ect. He called me early in morning to let me know all results told me all about medications and answered all my questions. He was a breath of fresh air from the normal doctor we had been seeing. Hes also very gental and doesnt seem to be in a hury like some doctors are.
His main focus is children. He was my doctor when I was a child/teen. I had gone to him many times during my junior high/high school years. Every time I went to his office, he would ask me if I was depressed, and if I wanted to take medication for it. He tried pushing pills on me all the time. It felt like he''d rather throw a pill at the problem, then get down to the "real" issue. When I went in to see if there was a way he could help me lose weight, he prescribed phentermine - Mind you, I''m in 10th grade at the time. I lost weight with it, but I also lost a lot of muscle mass. I went from being able to lift 125 lbs in the weight room to barely being able to lift 50 lbs. Now that I''m 25 yrs old I think to myself, "Why on earth would you put a child on phentermine?" Especially because I wasn''t incredibly overweight at the time. Scary. Just be careful if your children are under his care.
