I feel like a lot of the negative reviews offered here are from people who either didn't get a specialist referral or felt like Dr Pavlatos didn't take their problems seriously. Dr Pavlatos is a great doctor and it is his job to make informed decisions about specialist referrals. if you are a hypochondriac this probably is not the doctor for you, but if you desire prompt care with curtious support staff and a straightforward approach to primary care Dr Pavlatos is a great choice.

Pavlatos is very impatient. He barley listened to my problems and even worse he told me that my problems weren't any concern and that I was too young to have any problems. One time I called him and he yelled at me for trying to get a referral. He has a VERY bad bedside manner. I constantly felt like I was imposing on his time and that I was being pushed out the door. To his credit he did refer me to some specialist (after much arguing). I've only seen him twice and it was enough to inspire me to write a bad review

The absolute worst. I have never seen a doctor this rude, abusive and incompetant. Don't believe posters extolling his virtues, they look like they're written by the same person. Basically, I had to leave and find another doctor because he wouldn't treat my problems, and wouldn't refer me to specialist, then became verbally abusive. Aren't there any standards for practicing medicine?

Dr. P has been my doc for more than a decade. I was originally referred by a friend, and I have since discovered why: he is experienced and knowledgeable and at-ease. Most importantly, I feel I can tell him or ask him ANYTHING, which is vital with your personal physician. Dr. P spends time listening to what's going on in my life and asking good questions about health, etc.. On more than one occasion, he has responded quickly to phone calls (within hours) and has always referred me to excellent specialists or ordered appropriate tests when needed. I've seen him on his busy days, and while his focus is more brief, I've always gotten the care and attention I've needed.

I have been with Dr. P. since he was a resident and I wouldn't go to anyone else. He is a wonderful doctor, always concerned and knowledgeable. I have always recommended him to friends of mine. His staff has also always been helpful to me.

Andrew Pavlatos is a rude, moody person who treats his patients terrible. I would't go to him or St Joesphs hospital. One of the head Doctors there told me the hospital is a pigsty.

Dr. P cut my bill when he discovered I had no insurance, and gave me samples to save me the RX costs. He was respectful and knowledgeable about my condition. ps--I see there's nothing to prevent a single dissatisfied individual from posting multiple negative reviews here.

Dr. Pavlatos is the most caring and knowledgable physician I have every had. He has always responded quickly to any off-hour calls with compassion and comfort. He discusses pros and cons of treatments in plain language and knows when a specialist may be of benefit. He does have a sense of humor (as most intelligent people do) and if you can't deal with that, then you may want a more solemn health care provider. As far as the HMO goes, always pick PPO from your employer. It may be more expensive, but your primary care MD is limited in decision making AND re-imbursement by HMOs. Doctors must also must be second-guessed by "experts" at the insurance company who can take away even more re-imbursement. Try that at your job. A+ for doctor Pavlatos and his staff.
