Ratings for Dr. Ezra Onat
Three appointments, waited a full hour on two occasions, no exaggeration, before seeing the Dr. and 30 minutes on the third. Had a blood test to determine +/- status for a virus, which was done one month after suspected exposure. Results were negative, but I expressed concern that a one-month window may be insufficient. Dr. answered, without elaboration, that one month is sufficient to determine status. Subsequently, a 1 minute internet search revealed that, in many cases, several months ARE necessary for the body to develop detectable anti-bodies. In addition, the lab employed only one of two available test methods, which fact went unmentioned. I called the test company to so determine pursuant to said internet search. The two tests target two distinct types of antibodies for the same virus--each of which appear during different windows from the date of exposure, from several weeks to, again, several months. That distinction should have been mentioned (but of course all Dr.s assume all laypersons are idiots). More importantly, it was nothing short of irresponsible to ignore the very real possibility that a one month window from date of exposure to this type of virus is highly likely NOT sufficient to be "in the clear." Yet another example of countless in which the internet has proven far more useful than a $350 visit to a Dr. And, 2 months from now, I'll be scheduling a repeat test elsewhere.
Dr. Onat was an okay Dr. Her support staff turned me off and eventually had to switch Dr.'s because they were so incompetent and it was impossible for then to do anything simple such as sending documents through a fax or getting a new Rx without me physically going to pick it up or having another appointment. The only reason I stayed with her practice as long as I did was because her nurese was fabulous.
Reading the comments above (or is it below), I can hardly believe we have been to the same doctor. Dr. Onat is courteous and good in recommending supplement rather than drugs (with side effects). She comes across as knowledgeable and not jumping to conclusions. My annual physical in April was a fresh breath in an otherwise chaotic US healthcare system. She is the first MD in the US who am actually comfortable with!
you don't understand a word she says. She is trying to push the natural pills that is she trying to sell and make cash with no receipt. because of her, i got delayed in treatment. she should not practive at all. i would not recommened her to any person
I decided to see Dr. Onat for a physical. I filled out some information on a Phreesia digital system and at first I was into it, thinking that finally someone was going digital. Unfortunately, it didn't allow you to NOT enter a social security number; and second, the doctor didn't even GLANCE at anything I filled out. I don't think it made it into my patient chart prior to the start of the appointment, which is odd considering I waited a full forty five minutes. I was almost going to pack it in when the doctor rushed in... she was just running late-- I was her first patient so maybe she overslept. Anyway, I said that I needed to be back at work in half an hour and did she think there was adequate time for the physical? She said there was and then proceeded to give me the most abbreviated, worthless physical I think I ever had. Most notably, I have a pronounced heart murmur and she both listened to my heart with a stethoscope as well as administered an EKG, and detected nothing abnormal
Fact: First time I saw her I was complaining of a fever. She prescribed me an antibiotic and sent me on my way never explaining why I needed the antibiotic. The second time I saw her complaining about my knee and requesting basic blood test to ensure that I am heathly. As of this writing it was three weeks ago and I have called twice and still have not be contacted about the results of my blood test or my xray. Opinion: Both times I have visited Dr. Onat's office I was impressed by the way it looked, but each time she interacted with me it felt forced and rushed. She did not connect with me and did not appear concerned about my health. Feels like she is just pushing people through her office.
