Ratings for Dr. William B. Henghold
My experience and my spouse's experience is that this office regularly uses overbooking and is therefore incapable of seeing patients even remotely according to schedule. Both my initial and second visits involved significant wait times despite being morning appointments, and my spouse heard the patient before her asking about his 8:40 appointment at 9:40. To the staff's credit, they responded politely and as best they could. If your time is not valuable to you, you may be satisfied, but we are not. Unless you can verify that you will be the very first appointment of the day, I suggest taking your business elsewhere. Also, when I scheduled my initial appointment, I specifically requested seeing Dr. Hengold. I was not told then that I would see someone else, but when I signed in I was informed that I would be seeing one of the Nurse Practitioners. I was satisfied with NP's knowledge, but not with the bait-and-switch approach used by this practice.
It took two visits to convince these folks that a 5 mm spot on my face needed to be biopsies. I could plainly see that it was a basal cell carcinoma, and the biopsy confirmed it. When I got my stitches out a week after the surgery, everything seemed okay until I got home and looked at the scar in a magnifying mirror. There was a gap in the incision. I called the office right away and left a message at the nurse's station. This was well before closing time. No one ever called me back. I did the best I could to butterfly it, and I will call another dermatologist this morning. My experience with this office has been terrible.
Doctor H. and his staff were very effective and congenial to deal with. The doctor and his nurse performed minor surgery to remove a slow growing lump. The doctor listens very carefully, is informative and quite skilled, and retains a sense of humor even at the end of a long day. I debated whether or not to give him a 4 for punctuality because I did have to wait a fair amount of time; however, his doctor partner was currently unavailable, so an extra load of work fell his way. And I realized that only the best and most demanded doctors are occasionally not as punctual as we might like as patients. So, I bumped him to a 5 for punctuality pending further experiences with him. I could not help get the impression that here is a doctor that cares just as much about his patients as people than as a means of earning a living. There are few doctors who possess such humanity after years of practice.
I waited 6 weeks to get an appointment with this Dr. I had an abnormal lesion I wanted to see the Dr. about.(Did not want to see the PA) A week before the appointment the office called and said the Dr. was so overbooked and they didn't want me to have to sit and wait for a long time so they scheduled me with the PA and if she felt it was necessary I would see the Dr. Obviously they put people ahead of me. I canceled the appointment.
