He is nice normally yet has a temper you don't want to see. Too much ego involved. This doctor can be scattered at times and does not order important testing for any Lyme patient like thyroid adrenal EBV tests D3 and B12. He can not continue to expect ones PCP to pick up the slack. He often appears to have not gotten enough sleep the night before. He and his office make too many costly mistakes which cost the patient financially. No one is on call. If you have an emergency do not expect a timely call back. More chaos than expected. I would hope he would know more about what Rx he just had you on but often seems to not not know what he has been doing with you and tries to offer up an Rx he just had you finish for good. He refers his patients to a naturopath and you wonder if he is making a commission because she is costly and sees patients every six weeks in his office. He sees patients in S. CA yet makes them spend much of that visit with another naturopath - bait and switch?
Dr. Harris is the best! He has treated me for about 6 years. I have several co-infections and other complicating factors with my stomach and emotions. Dr. Harris works with what I can do and still be able to work and function and he understands my position. He is brilliant, kind-hearted, has a great sense of humor and doesn't give up on you, no matter what! Thanks, Dr. Harris for all of your efforts!
This was my first visit to Frontier Medical, after being diagnosed on Christmas Eve. I was very happy to have received an appointment so quickly, as other doctors didn't even return my calls. I met with Yvonne, Dr. Harris's PA, and found her to be very thorough and explained everything to me. The office (files/paperwork) seemed very disorganized, but the staff could not have been nicer. They have been responsive to my phone calls so far. So far, I have had a good experience. Dr. Harris did come in and meet my husband and I, and he seemed very approachable.
Dr Harris has treated me for years through all the ups and downs of lyme and has been awesome. The people complaining here I presume are high maintenance themselves. After reading these complaints of too many patients?!!! How selfish can a person be?! How would you feel if you were the one he couldnt take? I cant imagine what it must be like to deal with all of us and our fear and rages, drama and complaints on a daily basis. Some of you people need to get over yourselves and be grateful you are getting help when thousands arent!Try being part of your own solution and treatment and I think you will do a lot better! I have had nothing but great care.I highly respect this Dr.and highly recommend him!
I like the fact this MD is open minded and semi alternative. I do not like the fact he sees too many patients affecting the care you receive. His staff was very lacking in the past. I think it is unjust that he forces very ill patients who signed up with him to do phone consults with his PA who is poorly trained for the same amount of money he charges. I wish he would take more time to study charts more often. He did not switch my meds up every 6 months nor give me strong enough doses for babesia. Due to some of the past chaos in this man's practice and the fact he is often scattered I do feel he needs a lot of improvement to be the great LLMD I know he can be. He is compassionate yet has a bad temper. He makes too many mistakes and let my care fall through the cracks. If you know what treatment plan to do and just need a MD to write the Rx this would be the guy. He has potential but is not there yet. Too much chaos for sick people to deal with. Not a "rock star" yet.
Dr. Steven Harris is great!! he takes very good care of you, although it takes a bit of time to get a question answered I know him and his staff will get back to me and my family regarding our treatments. He has so many patients, and to have him as a doctor you'd have to understand that you are not the only patient he has. Everyone might want a quick response right away, but like I said give them a day or two to respond and I'm sure they will. The staff there are very nice, I've never been treated with the upmost respect by any doctor offices. overall I rate Pacific Frontier # 1 !!! keep it up guys!
First visit is expensive. Follow-ups are $220+. You are charged for any letters needed for employers or insurance companies. He is very knowledgable. My only concern is the follow-up when you have an emergency. Not sure if it is the office staff getting the messages to him for answers. His treatments are hardcore, so you need to be ready for the herx's.
Dr. Harris' father owns IgeneX Labs, which is one of the most respected labs in the country for diagnosing lyme disease. So you can say he grew up with an understanding of Lyme disease. Maybe he even had lyme disease himself. He's knowledgeable, open, positive and cooperative with alternative treatments, and that is very important because I don't think anyone has THE ANSWER for lyme disease yet. He will work with you and your preferences for treatment. He admits he is learning all the time. I like that in a doctor. My only complaint is that he doesn't get back to you and is hard to get ahold of when you have a question.
