Ratings for Dr. Richard Demir
I do not understand where all of these negative reviews are coming from? Dr. Demir is a little more on the blunt and direct side compared to other sensitive doctors. He does have a very DIFFERENT personality which takes some getting use to. BUT, from all the doctors I've been too, he has been the most thorough, direct, and most intelligent doctor I have encountered. I wasted thousands and thousands of dollors from treatments from other doctors with positive reviews on how nice they were and how they listened and seemed to care. Well it never got me anywhere but a huge medical bill. Dr. Demir from what I experienced doesn't like to fake anything and yes he does use profanity and weird comparisons, but he has been the only doctor to help fix what was wrong with me. If you want a sensitive, caring, hand holding doctor, Dr. Demir is not for you. If you want a serious, different, most effective doctor who will fix the problems, then Dr. Demir is your answer.
My experience at Desert Womens Care was amazing. The staff is super friendly and outgoing. From the moment I walked in I was greeted with smiles. They checked my benefits before I arrived so there was no delay in time. I received an ultrasound at my first visit to check for anything which I liked a lot. Dr. Demir was attentive with my questions and helping find the root cause on my pelvic pain. I had a laparoscopic surgery with him and he did an amazing job! My scars are very small and almost unnoticeable. I had very little discomfort and was able to return to work within a week. I am now on the Lupron therapy after I was diagnosed with endometriosis and I have never felt better. Thank you so much Dr. Demir I would definitely refer this provider to all.
The only reason I continued to go was for relief,he is arrogant speaking about voting for Obama was horrible and how women are so unf"cable these days he would f them with his pediatricians p"nis- word for word, on my second visit. He does not listen you are a statistic and your pain is like all other studies. He is snide and gives you pain medz to only call you a drug addict. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. I work in the medical field. I don't need a friend as a doctor, but I do need someone to listen. He has missed my pcos 3x now, and most of,the time your herded in like sheep 6 people have the same appointment times to pee in a cup and have a script written by his director as he calls her. Definitely not professional, no bedside manner, and I've had zero relief from the last 2 surgeries that I've now opted for a hysterectomy. He may be a talented surgeon and have many awards but if you want to be treated like a # or a statistic he is food you, if you want to be humiliated, treated like a child and degraded his for you. And if you have children don't bring them he yelled at my two year old for sitting quietly playing with her doll and why couldn't she sit with her hands in her lap she is 2 he said I don't like kids my wife tricked me into having kids and he couldn't stand them. Arrogant, pompous, jerk!
I am a pelvic pain sufferer of nineteen years. I have been with Pain Management for years getting epidural shots and oxycodone. They never bothered to make a diagnosis. Dr. demir did CT, MRI, GI and surgery. He finally diagnosed me with endometriosis. He removed alot of it and has treated me with lupren since. Now I need less oxycodone and have not had a back injection in seven months. I am working again and could not be more pleased.
I don't even know where to start. My experience going to Desert Womens Care and working with Dr. Demir has been bizarre and frustrating. Dr. Demir is clearly overly intelligent and studied, yes he is quirky which I can deal with, but his bedside manner is abysmal and he seems overly arrogant. I need a doctor that will listen, not make crude comments and dismiss my concerns. In that case something could be seriously missed. I found myself irritated and enraged talking to him. He doesn't seem as concerned with what his patients are going through as he is about the science of the job and following his routine. I did appreciate his affinity to wanting to scan everything else first, and getting an MRI and CT to ensure nothing else was wrong is smart. Many doctors want to just diagnose. He really needs to work on how he deals with patients. Demir's staff is a bunch of very young girls who don’t seem to have a dress code for work. The person who checked me in, also brought me to my room and checked my vitals. She wasn't in scrubs or anything closely resembling that. My=y appointments were messed up both times I came with the both girls lying to my face about different things which made things incredibly awkward. The way they handled the mixup was extremely unprofessional. To top it off, I did not get an apology or acknowledgement from Dr. Demir about the mess up and inconsiderate measure on my personal time or time away from work. He may work for some, but he is definitely not for me.
He is a rude inconsiderate butt hole who' is only worried about his jacket and not his patient. He needs to be audited.... That's it that's all very unpleased with this doctor and his attitude and language. He seems to put down his patients if they don't agree with him or his politics then he makes you feel like your an addict because you tell him your pain and he feels you just want pills when before coming to him you had no knowledge of his pain treatment. seems like anyone who walks into his office has endometriosis. He walks around using profanity etc please don't waste your time money or insurance on this Man because he really does not care.
Just went in with my sister in law - He lectured her for most of the appointment about healthcare system and how F**kd up ( his words ) and how people shouldn't go to the ER . He wanted $250 she could only pay $100 and he didn't even exam her or run any tests . And gave her a scrip for pain without no information giving .She gave a urine sample and was told they were testing for diseases But he drugged test her without her knowledge but we realized because they test right out in the open for all to see.
After seeing 2 other doctor's and getting 2 polar opposite options for a hysterectomy, which was already prescribed by my primary GYN, I wanted a 3rd opinion. A little hesitant to see Dr. Demir after reading the reviews, but I am SO glad I gave him a chance! For the first time in this process, I left the doctor's office feeling confident. He is definitely not your traditional doctor in his bedside manor, but I'm not looking for someone to go have drinks with, so couldn't care less about personality. I want to feel confident and assured that my hysterectomy is being done by the most capable, skilled, and experienced doctor. I was also a little confused with the pain management form, but upon reading it, my take away from it was positive, as it is to help restrict patients from getting narcotic pain prescriptions from multiple doctors. All of the text is about committing to using pain meds responsibly, keeping them in a secure location, etc. He didn't offer me any pain meds during my appointment, but will surely need them after surgery. I'm looking forward to my surgery, as its been a long time coming.
