He is very clear and concise with his feedback and in the most trying of times, has gone above and beyond the call of duty on my behalf. Dr. Keriem is a very nice person and is easy to talk to. He makes you feel welcome and comfortable and remains engaged throughout the sessions. I see Dr. Keriem on an ongoing basis and he has worked with me through personal crisis that would have resulted in my demise.. I couldn't imagine myself working in this capacity with anyone else. He is a unique person and an extraordinary doctor. In short, he is classy, humble and has it together. Dr. Keriem treated me with the utmost respect and dignity and got me to think differently about my life. Thank you Dr.Keriem
Dr. Keriem is professional, respectful and highly skilled indeed. I am a doctoral student and I was looking for a psychiatrist that utilizes CBT framework. I couldn't have been more pleased. CBT is not always easy as you are challenged to face your problems, fears and cognitive distortions, but Dr. Keriem is supportive and my work with him inspired lasting change and brought home back to me and my family. Really… I too did not know that Dr. Keriem has fans!! And it disturbs me when so-called fans become bitter haters! To me this is too “black and white” for my taste of things and does not by any means reflect on the doctor. So, what was this all about? A valium prescription? Undeserved sick note? I suggest you deal with your intense anger, move on and have a life. Dr. Keriem has always been truly invested in my well-being and his knowledge in the field is very strong. He balances, listens, and offers his perspective effectively in our sessions. He does not define his patients with labels or diagnoses, and instead he strives to understand his patients in the context of their background. Might you, he is also an amazing diagnostician and spent 4 hours with me over two sessions before he offered me my diagnosis. He also spent many others hours explaining my mental health condition and told me what needs to be done differently to claim myself back. Dr. Keriem also helped me to understand my mental health issues, and develop more insight into my way of dealing with myself, important others, and the world. Anyone who is assigned to the care of this brilliant doctor is extremely fortunate. Thank you Dr. Keriem
must say that I am not a fan of any doctor and do not belong to Dr. Abdel-Keriem’s fan club- if he happens to have one. I have personally worked with too many medical specialists and generalists and never idealized any on a good day or publically belittled or devalued them on a bad day. Today, while surfing the internet looking for Dr. Abdel-Keriem’s university address, I stumbled upon this interesting site and felt that I must correct misperceptions or misinformation. I am a clinical social worker who worked with Dr. Abdel-Keriem for more than 23 years primarily in forensic psychiatric settings. In other words I know this guy very well, and familiar with his practice. When it comes the quality of his care especially for the underprivileged, I am well placed to be his witness. Dr. Abdel-Keriem has been voted the best of the three best psychiatrists in Calgary for many years. He has also been voted the top of 180 psychiatrists on this site, simply because he listens and cares. Here is the link https://threebestrated.ca/psychiatrists-in-calgary-ab As a diagnostician, he is knowledgeable and observes evidence–based practice. He has always told his patients that he was not above second opinion and when needed he made consultation referrals accordingly. Dr. Abdel-keriem is a professor of psychiatry at the Calgary University School of Medicine. I am aware that he has trained over 100 psychiatrists since 1994, most of them are based in Calgary and some are currently practicing in western and eastern Canada. I myself learned volumes of knowledge and skills from this humble and experienced man. I am truly sorry to hear that the writer of the last post was upset with Dr. Abdel-Keriem. I am however curious to know as to what he seemed to do that was right and made the writer of the last post idealize him and become one of his fans. I am glad to hear that the writer of the last post found a diagnostician who is even better than the BEST of the best psychiatrists in Calgary. So whoever you are, get the help you feel you deserve and be happy there.
I used to be a fan of this doctor. As I tried to tell Dr K that i wasnt well again he would not listen to me, he was more concerned that i missed an appointment that his receptionist has yet to prove then he gave me a rx and said your just aggitated. Well i saw a new psychiatrist and it turns out i was mis diagnosed. My new psychiatrist spent a full hour asking me questions ect before any diagnosis. Dr K left me hanging and thank god my family doc got me in to see someone else. Who knows how this would of turned out.
