Ratings for Dr. Asher H. Taban
An example of how a devastating and painful experience could be turned into a wonderful, pain free surgery was conducted by an extremely successful surgeon- Dr. Asher Taban. Everything about Dr. Taban was beyond remarkable. His experience, his interest in me as a patient and his profound knowledge are only among the few. I am very grateful for the experience with Dr. Taban.
Dr. Asher Taban is my back surgeon and he performed an 8½ hour surgery on my back in early June 2017. This is my 5th back surgery and Dr. Taban was correcting problems from my last two surgeries which were done by another doctor. Dr. Taban is extremely patient and understanding. He answered all my questions clearly. The surgery went extremely well and although my recovery has been a relatively short time as of this writing the results have been remarkable. I can walk, sit and stand without pain and my discomfort comes from changing positions which will dissipate in time. My surgery incision is healing nicely. I highly recommend Dr. Taban and I believe he is a master neurosurgeon with a caring and kind personality. His entire office staff was extremely helpful and thought throughout this process. Thank you Dr. Taban!!! John Graves
I feel most fortunate to have had Dr. Taban as my back surgeon with his extreme surgical knowledge and expertise . His calm demeanor, clear explanations and obvious surgical experience gave me the confidence I needed to pursue this surgery. The surgery took 7 1/2 hours and I was in the hospital for 4 days. Each evening Dr. Taban came into see how I was doing. I was in no pain and they had me up walking immediately. We heard nothing but kudos about Dr. Taban while in the hospital. After 7 weeks I am walking 3 miles a day without pain or numbness and am slowly getting back to a normal routine which I have not had in the last 4 years. Thank you Dr. Taban for giving me my life back and I will be recommending you. Linda Phillips
Dr. Taban should retire! His accent and manner of speech make it very difficult to understand what he is saying. He operated on me in june of 2016 to relieve my back pain. I emerged from the lengthy surgery with my face swollen from many hours on my stomach. I started having back spasms that felt like a cattle prod as soon as the anesthesia wore off. My pain is no less and maybe worse than before . I have since seen another surgeon who discovered a pocket of fluid pressing on my spinal chord that wasn't there before Taban's surgery. Dr. Taban is rude, sarcastic, and impatient. I don't recommend him for anything.
My aunt and I can't say enough good things about the surgical skill and the care of my aunt, who had spinal fusion surgery. The operation was such a success that my aunt has no pain at all after only 3 1/2 weeks. He was highly recommended by several surgeons at Cedars-Sinai, so my aunt trusted that they would know who was good. Thankfully, they were right! Also, the office staff, especially Ellen, was so sweet and caring. She called several times to see how my aunt was feeling and even stopped by the hospital to visit. She is really special. Both she and the other staff were so caring and nice, and took time to answer any questions. Thank you so much, Dr. Taban!
Dear Dr. Asher Taban, Thanks for healing my husband, who suffered severe and debilitating pain, over a period of four months, due to a pinched nerve in his lower spine. Before seeing Dr. Taban, we consulted with six different doctors, who couldn't diagnose the cause of his pain. The radiologist diagnosed his pain to be caused by bulged disks, and subsequent doctors prescribed physical therapy, pain medication and epidural shots which were totally ineffective. He almost went through an unnecessary surgery due to a misdiagnosed from a spinal surgeon. Dr. Taban spent 2 hours examining my husband and, after carefully reviewing the MRI, discovered a spinal cyst that was pinching the nerve and caused constant severe pain. He called the radiologist, who agreed he had missed the cyst and agreed to revise his original report. D. Taban operated my husband to a remove the cyst, which released the nerve. The pain disappeared immediately!!!! Dr. Taban is an amazing doctor, kind and polite with a gift that makes him an extraordinary neurosurgeon. We cannot thank Dr. Taban enough, for returning my husband his life and wellbeing. We also thank his staff, whose dedication mirrors that of Dr. Taban. We will be in your debt forever and only have well wishes for you to continue to heal your patients. Sincerely, Abbas and Waleska Navazi
I was a patient of Dr. Taban's and thought he was a great Neurosurgeon but I could not get any follow up appointments for yearly reviews. His staff gave me the run-around and every time I came by there were never any other patients but plenty of accolades from former patients every where you turned you saw framed letters and cards. Dr. Taban is a great surgeon but as far as his bedside manner - it is lacking and so is the un-professionalism of his staff.
Among all of the doctors I have seen in my lifetime, (I am a senior citizen), Dr. Taban is rated the best in my book. He is patient, kind and reassuring. He answered all of my questions and made it very easy for me to decide to have surgery. The surgery went well and I am proud to say that everything is fine. I would recommend Dr. Taban to my friends and relatives in a heartbeat. He is the best!
taban is lacking respect, empathy, patience and knowledge.he specifically told me " I am done with you after seeing your report"- three visits and he wanted me out!! I am a stroke survivor- struggling with other ailing neck/shoulder injury due to a fall, but taban ignored my complaints having a very negative attitude. Very disappointing & demeaning. I will never recommend him
He is very rude, disrespectful, moody, and unpleasant! I regret going to him.
