Ratings for Dr. Alyssa M. Degnan
My husband and I became Dr. Degnan's patients 10 years ago and have found her friendly, knowledgeable and caring, visiting her seriously ill patients in the hospitals even though they are now under the care of specialists and knowing she will receives no compensation from Medicare.. We have had no complaints except that she has too many patients and Medicare expects doctors to give each patient only 6 minutes of their time. Dr. Degnan gives more, depending on the patient's need, which does cause backups in the waiting room.
This doctor is very full of herself, and very spiteful . I have cancer much to her delight. And I quit smoking on my own not very sure why she needed to be involved in mt care accept like I said I was a smoker and in her opinion I deserved it. After I quit smoking she was still accusing me 0f smoking when I asked her why she said I reeked of cigarette smoke so she didn't believe I quit, and that all smokers are natural born pathological liars. She said her mother was a smoker and she smokes and tries to pretend she doesn't, I told her I didn't care what her mother does. Very childish of her. Than I had a prescription for tramadol with her the surgery , I was also getting a prescription for hydrocodone, from another doctor, while picking up prescriptions at the pharmacy they told me my tramadol was about to expire and they were going to call it in for a new one did I want to wait on it, I said sure. Got the prescription and the next thing I know her nurse is calling me and telling me I was a junkie and they would never give me another prescription again, and than hung up on me. She also put me on a cholesterol medication which made my joints ache and my legs hurt . When I asked her about this she said it was from the cancer. I was also having problems with pain shooting down my left leg into foot she told me it was from my cancer and diabetes. by then I had had enough and changed doctors, the joint and leg pain was from the cholesterol medication which was changed and the pain went away, and the left leg and foot pain is from sciatica, which i am getting treatment for. Do not get on this doctors bad side because she will bad mouth you to other doctors and try to mismanage your medical care.
