Ratings for Dr. Kevin W. George
Doctor George is a absolutely phenomenal psychiatrist that has increased my quality of life tremendously. He is not a therapist so do not go there expecting CBT or any type of psychotherapy because that's not what psychiatrists do. Doctor George is always on time. His staff is extremely pleasant and once you find what works he gets you in and out to go about your day. I would recommend doctor George to any knowledgeable adult who wants to guide their path to better living. If you want to be hand held and want someone to make decisions for you then may consult someone else
Dr. Kevin George is an excellent doctor. Very professional and knowledgable. The thing I would like to state from a comment I read by another person when you see a pyschiatrist he is not a therapist. You are getting some type of drug from a psychiatrist. So that is alot of****. I had seen many other pyschiatrists before him and they did not know what the hell they were prescribing - KEvin George helped me with 2 major things that happened in my life and he was the only could do that. He has a bad rap know because of this and as far as the person that had his drug you could have called your own doctor and had the prescription refilled and I did that. That was not so hard. People all react too quickly. I would recommend this doctor to any one. HE was always professional. Jeanie O.
The office of Dr. Kevin George has no business treating patients with psychiatric conditions. All of his staff are cold, unresponsive and disorganized. In the short time that I was a patient there they: 1. Lost my blood test results (which I paid for out-of-pocket). 2.Changed my practitioners four times, one of these was not only incompetent but rude. 3. Did not return any of my phone calls or letters and 4. Sent me an erroneous no-show bill which took me seven weeks to have revoked (after calling the BBB). In addition to being administratively disorganized, this practice is indifferent to the needs of their patients. My advice is to avoid this practice if you are in need of psychiatric care.
I went to Dr. George back in 2009 bc i have anxiety and depression, my friend had warned me not to go to him bc all he does is over prescribe meds and boy was she right!!!! he tried to put me on 4 different meds and "diagnosed" me with 4 different mood disorders, he never once looked up at me and made eye contact. He did not buid any type of rapport with me and when i went back to my primary he was actually shocked at all the meds and disorders he had diagnosed me with, needless to say i never filled any of the prescriptions and i NEVER went back to him. My advice is to go with any other doctor besdies him! I didn't care so much about the staff as i did how Dr. George treated me and he treated me like a number rather than a person
I agree with the previous commenter - these people are obnoxious. They care about money more than patients. They give patients very little time and/or attention, case management is inconsistent and unorganized; it's difficult to get an appointment when you need immediate assistance and their interpersonal skills are altogether lacking. One gets the sense of being a number, not a human being at this office. If you are suffering a common mood disorder such as depression, don't bother with this office. Psychiatric health practitioners more than anyone else the importance of treating people like they matter.
I found the staff to be extremely obnoxious and unfriendly. Also, there is something VERY wrong in the administrative sense. For example, they hire and fire Nurse Practioners as often as one changes underwear. I was a patient there (Psychopharmacology Consultants of Albany)for about two years and had to see four different NP's. I felt as though I could never establish a good rapport with any of the NP's because they were never there long enough to do so. Lastly, they are downright MEAN when it comes to asking for refills. They make you feel as though you are an inconvenience to them. Do yourself a favor and find another Psychiatrist
Dr. George is good, very knowledgeable. However, the office staff is very poor with any paper work, especially with renewal prescriptions, requested them to mail in one, received wrong one - called back, they reviewed my chart and acknowledged error but still have not fix it! I checked with my prescription provider on line, my correct renewal has not been received yet. I am running out of medications within one week and will have to call back a third time now, unacceptable and unprofessional response from office staff in my opinion. I am stressed already without having to deal with something as simple as a renewal of a prescription.
