Ratings for Dr. Ellen Blank
Dr. Ellen Blank is the worst physician I have come across in 25 years of experience in the healthcare field- my father and mother both being doctors and nurses, respectively. Now, to my experience, Dr. Blank stormed in the waiting room in which I was in, without offering a hello or introduction. She proceeded to ask me: "What are you here for?", a testament to her lack of any sense of tact or sense of professionalism. I informed her of my problem, she examined it and replied "Could be a different number of things", and then informed me that she could not help me and proceeded to leave. Astonished, I asked her to please wait as I had other skin problems that she had not let me show her. Upon showing her the acne I was suffering from, she told me: "Just get some benzol peroxide", (which is something available over the counter). I told her that I had benefited from a course of oral antibiotics in the past, and would like to start another course, to which she replied: "Oh, I don't do antib
I was told I had first appointment in the morning (7:30AM), but turned out I had to wait for 30 minutes as doctor was chatting with a patient(or friend)about their mothers and how they treated them. I could overhear from my room. After waiting for another 30 minutes I told staff politely that I was supposed to be the first patient and I was already late for work. It was already 8:30AM. Doctor came in 8:45,talked to me 5 minutes and just said oh, there is no problem and handed over some samples, a presciption and left in 5 minutes. So, I was out of the office at 8:50 wondering what happened to my problem. Very frustrating experience. I guess because I didn't need any expensive medical procedures and she couldn't have made big money out of me! The treatment didn't work for me either!!
I went to see this doctor because I had a small growth on my arm and she was one of the few that took my health insurance. I arrived 30 minutes early so I could fill out the paperwork. The office was dingy, the receptionist loudly talked to herself the whole time I was there in a constant state of confusion, and I was taken into the exam room 30 minutes late. I waited another 15 minutes before the doctor came into the room. She asked why I was there and I showed her my arm. She ran her finger over it, asked if it was itchy, gave me a few "what it could be’s" and then told me she was entirely too busy to do anything about it today and to go make another appointment and she would take a sample and send it to the lab but that I shouldn’t wait too long. She then turned and went into the next examining room. I will admit this was my first time going to a dermatologist so I don't know if how I was treated is standard but I know for me this doctor is not getting a second chance.
