Ratings for Dr. Gregory D. Blackmon
THIS IS LONG, sorry,. We stopped going to this practice years ago. At 6 months my preemie son contracted chicken pox. We saw a pa a that visit. 2 weeks later was his 6 month well visit and dr Greg walked in like he had no idea. Or he hadn't read charts or it wasn't in charts is how it looked to me. So I told him. He was so surprised. At the end of the checkup he said shots were due but I felt really ill at ease about them since he was really still getting over a major illness. I felt we should hold off a few weeks and ask the dr the same question. He assured me it was fine. I should have trusted my gut. I let them give the vaccines but within 24 hrs we had him at Children's Hospital he had been running 104+ and we couldn't break it. We were there for over a week. They had to do a spinal tap on him. A one point we had a Chaplin with us. He was so swollen he was twice his size. They wrote it up as "a a viral infection" doc' s protecting dr's. If you look up any of the vaccinations it says to postpone if there is any illness beyond a cold. My child had a live virus already organically in his system. Ole Greg shouldn't have authorized anything else. Like an idiot I stayed with them. Even though I knew they were responsible for my child's illness. There was a time he had many ear infections one after another. But at Blackmon you don't got to see your dr each time. You see a PA or NP or another dr. So you may go to the dr 4 times and see 4 different people for the dame issue and none of them realize there is a real problem and you may need to go to a specialist. EVEN WHEN YOU SAY I'VE BEEN HERE THE PAST 4 WEEKS. So...as a result, instead of being sent to a specialist ear after ear infection after another we were just handed RX after RX to treat until Abby sent us to Bridgewater. Thank GOD. And also to Dr Belmont at Children's. Thank God! My son lost his high frequency hearing from over use of Zithromax. He can never get it back. I homeschool to help him cope with it. Hearing aids didn't really work for him. He doesn't hear birds chirping. He asks if he will ever hear right and I have to be honest. And I bear the guilt of not getting him out of there sooner. DONT GO THERE.
The staff at Blackmon Pediatrics is incredibly rude. After failing to call to let me know they were unexpectedly closing their office for the day, they blamed me for not checking their Facebook page. This is one of several bad experiences I've had with the staff and I will not be going back.
This doctor's staff is terrible and rude. We just moved to TN from Maryland 5 months ago. Our twelve month old had her first fever of over 102 degrees and we called 8:30 am Saturday Morning.. They refused to see her and told us to go to the emergency room. They said they had too many patients. I have four kids and I have never dealt with such a terrible group of doctors.. The ER visit is now going to cost us $250 when they could have seen us. i am disgusted with this staff and doctors... stay FAR AWAY....
We love Drs.Greg and Abby and are lucky to have found them. They're both caring and knowledgeable, and have always taken the best care of my kids. Their staff has also been top notch. Good nurses and extra help on busy days to keep patients well cared for. The kids love the look and feel of their office too. We couldn't ask for better treatment and couldn't be more grateful to have them as doctors.
If you disagree with him and do not follow his suggestions, then he will talk about you behind your back to all the staff. Then he will wash his hands of you. He did with me and my daughter, the moment I disagreed about putting my baby on STEROIDS!
