Ratings for Dr. Ken Seethram
This is a review also based on PCRM. Initially we weren’t happy with our care the pcrm. We actually considered switching to olive fertility and I can’t even explain how happy we are that we didn’t. I’ve been in the medical system with health problems since 2 so I have seen MANY doctors over the years. Dr. Seethram is actually one of the kindest people I have ever met. No doctor has ever been more caring, considerate or hard working. This man is honestly a saint. Without him my husband and I would literally be lost. If you are lucky enough to get him as your doctor at pcrm you won the doctor lottery honestly. His nurse Alyson is also the sweetest caring nurse we’ve had the pleasure of dealing with.
I just did my first injection to myself in my life. I don't know how others felt but i was worried and nervous. I couldn't get the medicine out of the vial. Dr Seethram picked up the phone right away and assisted me throughout my preparation for my injection. I would have miss my first day injection if Dr Seethram weren't available and kept me calmed. He is truly a genuine nice doctor. Thank you!
My wife and I saw Dr. Seethram after an extremely disappointing 1 year process with the Royal Alex hospital. My wife had a low egg count and they would not move forward with egg retrieval even though we had 2 eggs to retrieve and fertilize. We wasted $5000 on drugs basically. We then went to PCRM in Edmonton shortly thereafter and met with Dr. Seethram. He was genuine, and listened to our concerns, and explained the low odds, but that if we wanted to proceed he's not worried about his stats, like others may be, and that we should explore all of our options before we look at other options like donor eggs or adoption. We were happy to see that he was open to all options. We proceeded, and with an alternative drug protocol, unfortunately again only had 2 eggs to retrieve. We moved fwd, and 9 months later, a HEALTHY HAPPY BABY GIRL!! We can't thank him enough, and highly recommend him and their clinic.
I'm sorry if others had a bad experience with Dr Seethram, but personally I thought he was the most sincere, knowledgeable and helpful doctor I've ever dealt with throughout my infertility journey. He did not push IVF treatment on me but instead suggested many other methods according to my age, health and medical history. He has the best bedside manner out of all the doctors I've met and I feel like he genuinely cares about my wellbeing and emotional health throughout the whole process. I've gone through 2 rounds of Clomid, 2 rounds of Letrozole, 2 IUIs, 1 IVF and 1 FET. I'm grateful for him and his team for helping me through this difficult time.
We saw this doctor in 2014 and felt like we were being pushed into expensive IVF treatments from day 1. The focus was never on diagnosing what was actually wrong or if there were any medical conditions causing the infertility. After we resisted diving into IVF and did a lot of online research he reluctantly put us on less aggressive treatments but kept pushing us for IVF. Even while going through a medical procedure, the treatment was very inhumane and it felt like we were being penalized for now readily signing up for the IVF scheme! Knowledgeable maybe but honest or humane, surely not. The clinic is run like a business enterprise and if you are willing to sign up to IVF then you get good treatment, others get treated like a burden that must be addressed because the MSP system pays for it. This business model is AN INHERENT CONFLICT OF INTEREST!!
