I have been seeing Dr Swayze for almost 10 years and I am so happy that she is my doctor. She really takes the time to help and listen to you. She is thoughtful and caring. Can't say enough good things about her. The staff there is also great especially Sheila as is the front line staff who are super helpful too.
This 'doctor' had my comment removed so I shall try again and report her to this website AND the CPSO if she tries that again. In was bedridden for over a decade with a 'mystery' illness and had moved back to the St. C area to get the care from my parents. I was then correctly diagnosed by a Michigan doctor as having Lyme Dx with two other co-infections. Dr. S was a nightmare, completely dismissive of my serious illness and the horrible struggle to to regain my health (I was seeing specialists in the U.S.) but she actually had the nerve to demand that I see a psychiatrist before she would even consider ordering basic labs for me. The horrible medical care I received from her was a huge HINDRANCE to getting better. She is authoritative, dismissive and completely lacks basic knowledge. I can't believe she is is a doctor. The best thing I ever did was leave her practice and am now happily living in the U.S. where I have AMAZING care. It's only a matter of time this 'doctor' will land herself in hot water, seems like she is more interested in talking about her kids' behaviors and family activities rather than focusing on patients, she should,be ashamed of her behaviour though that requires having a conscience. Thank you Dr. S for keeping me horribly ill, I am so much happier and healthier away from you!.
This physician is a long wait but not worth the wait; she is snooty and not at all knowledgeable on physical injuries or sports medicine. She had done sports (rowing) but you would think she learned something. Are all Mac grads like this? She needs to focus and spend some time practicing good medicine. Take a laxative and see your doctor ....
I have been a patient of Dr. Swayze's for 2 decades. When she was in her previous practice location, if didn't have any concerns. Since moving to the Ontario St, McMaster teaching location, the level of care and attention to individual patient issues has plummeted!!! I have been down the cancer road and back again, and in those 2 years, I haven't so much as received a telephone call from Dr. Swayze's office. When I did try to make an appointment to deal with what i thought was another "lump", I was told that they would "try to fit me in". Even though it is difficult to get a new physician in Niagara, I have no interest in returning to Dr. Swayze's office (where---you never saw Dr. Swayze anyhow)!!
I've been a patient of Dr. Swayze's for 17 years now. She became my doctor as a teenager and now I bring my children to her. She is very helpful and approachable. Whenever she hasn't known something she's always looked it up or referred me to a specialist. To all the "haters" out there - good luck on finding another doctor in Niagara who actually cares about her patients.
Well the arrogance of the Medical Profession is alive and well at this clinic. I arrived early for my 9am appointment. They start at 9! there were only 2 of us in the waiting room. More people came and soon everyone was gone except me. I was puzzled by this so I asked when my appointment was? 9 was the response and the staffer responded it's only 9:10!! All this time there was a doctor (I could see him, chatting away with one of the receptionists). I left at 9:15. Everyone knows that it will be another 15 min wait in the tiny room afterwards so a 9:00 am appt. is at best 9:30. I don't think it would have been fair to have my BP taken after that. I'm pretty much resigned to the fact that the first serious medical problem I get in the Niagara Area - I'm a dead man. So why waste time in various waiting rooms? I could not comment on "Knowledgeable" since I did not sit around to find out. However, in order too post this I selected 3 as a default.
FRONT DESK STAFF ARE NOT APPROACHABLE - THEY DO NOT GENERATE A FEELING THAT U WANT TO CALL IN AND MAKE AN APPOINTMENT - EVEN WHEN IT IS GENUINELY NEEDED - THE PRACTICE HAS LOST THE FAMILY FEEL AND IS NOW A BUSINESS - VERY VERY SAD - MISS SHEILA - THE STAFF NEED TO TAKE LESSONS :(
