I really dislike ranking others low, but I feel it necessary in this situation to hopefully help others in need of help like me. It's been almost a good year that I've had a session with Charles Omally and I feel broken that a professional could do a job so poorly. At the time I was in sessions with him for major depression. He joked lots and never took things too seriously like my struggle of needing a safe living involvement and my suicidal thoughts. He changed topics lots to religion (Mormonism), how I probably have add/hd, and my service dog in training that came to the sessions at times. With the dog it got to the point of him just staring and smiling and talking to her saying things, for example "oh you poor thing.. I can't pet you much because your working." He would often get into different topics and never once helped me with my depression. Even when I'd method it every session that that was my major issue that I wanted help on.. He scared me at times and I would not recommend him for anyone. I believe he is professional when it comes to add/hd but his methods and conversions are not in my opinion with my session anyway. Perhaps it's due to him being a Mormon Bishop and knowing my family was in that religion and felt more himself with my case. At the last session he was trying to convince me that he could get my mom to cut me some slack and for me to have more freedom. At the time this was not a massive issue and I truly just needed life support to want to live. I was talking him out of it until he got to be a smarty and said in all his years he NEVER once was not able to convince a parent to take his advise. He went on and on how he worked this profession for over 25 years and that I was wrong to question him that my mother is not like others at all. Well, he promised me that my mom would take his advise, and at that time I figured the worst would be my mom never letting me do a therapy session again, and was somewhat ok with that since he was my only option. Well, after convincing my mother she was s upset and never took me to a session again. I now am never wanting to do therapy with a perfessional due to the negative effects his sessions had on me. Instead, I'm stuck on very high doses of antidepressants which just numb me to not think suicide. Please don't go my rought. Therapy is great for most people, and most professions help heal. Xx
