On September 14, 2015 I received a nerve study, and a muscle nerve study, costing a total of $850.00. As of this moment, my doctor **********, has not received results from those nerve conduction studies. Is this standard operating procedure? If so, it reflects badly on your practice. The delay has caused some inconvenience as we are trying to find the root cause of disturbing symptoms. While I spoke with a person in the office today, who assures me the study results will be faxed, be aware this is not acceptable as a practice in delivering quality healthcare. This person did not identify herself. She was rather cavalier in tone, which makes me wonder how often this happens. I made decisions, predicated on a timely conveyance of these studies to my primary care provider. Two doctor’s appointments have passed without results that could be crucial in diagnosing my current medical situation. What possible use are uncomfortable diagnostic procedures, if the results sit in electronic files unreported? In essence, I paid for a service and got nothing. It is my hope that Penn Neurologic Associates improves their data share protocols in order to improve care coordination.
