Looks like the nation’s capital is on a roll as it tops rankings as the country’s healthiest metropolitan area for the second year in a row, but most of the top cities for health are actually on the West Coast, a newly released index shows.
While Washington D.C. tops the list, the majority of the healthiest ranked cities (six out of the top ten) are located on the West Coast of the country, according to the eighth annual American Fitness Index (AFI.)
Coming is second was Minneapolis, followed by three California cities in San Diego, San Francisco, and Sacremento rounding out the top five. Finishing off the top ten were cities that included Denver, Portland, Seattle, Boston and San Jose.
Ranking near the bottom were Oklahoma City and Indianapolis in last place.
