As a parent, you’re always on the lookout for the best opportunities for your child. Finding the best teachers and networking on their behalf can help them get ahead. Knowing their own short comings can also help lead them to success, as you can point them in directions that are suitable. And some conditions are easier to spot than others.
How can you tell if your child is color blind? There are some general markers to look for. It usually surfaces when the child is around 4 years old.
Often times, they will see red and green as the same color. In some individuals, identifying blue is a problem but this is less common.

More boys than girls suffer from color-blindness, and it doesn’t get better or grow worse as time passes.
Why does it happen? Being color blind means that only two thirds of the cone cells in their eyes work normally (there are 3).
Like other health conditions, people suffer from colorblindness to varying degrees. Some are severely color blind, and others only slightly.
If your child has trouble sorting objects according to their color, or they simply can’t identify colors correctly when they’re meeting other similar milestones, this is a definite sign. It’s not a serious condition, but make sure their teacher is aware of their inability, to make school time more pleasant.
