Do You Have (Smelly) Keto Crotch?

Changing your diet could also change the chemical make up of “other areas”.

Women, you don’t have to say it, I know: you have enough to worry about. There are all those bills, crazy relationships, the future of humankind, it’s on-going. The way your vagina smells could be last on your list of potential troubles. And so it should be.

But given the chance, most of us would prefer to sport a fresh spring scent down there, in place of a malodorous mess, am I right?

And so, here are some tips. Sometimes, it all comes down to what you’re eating. Oranges and cookies: great. Garlic bread and salmon…maybe OK, but maybe not so much. You get the picture.

If you follow the infamous Keto diet, you should know that you could be putting yourself on the path to suffering through some “bad crotch” days.

How? According to Andrea Hardy, a dietician interviewed by Global News in Canada, the Keto diet, which allows you to eat low-carb, high-fat meals, can change the pH of your vagina.

Basically, an excessive intake of fats is what does it. With this can come more bad bacteria growing down there. It’s called bacterial vaginosis and it gives off an unpleasant smell.

The Keto diet has you get 70 to 80 percent of your calories from fat. Too many fats and saturated fats can spell trouble.

So, should you avoid Keto altogether? Approaching the fad in moderation could be a good idea. If you find you’re suffering from yeast infections more often, adding in some carbs could be a plan to think about. But everyone is different.
