Anthony Bourdain will eat anything.
From seal eyes to balut, the No Reservations and Parts Unknown star has made a name for himself by trying anything at least once.
But there are some things Bourdain prefers to keep unknown, and has no reservations in breaking his food principles. Amongst the foods he won’t try again are Icelandic fermented shark, Namibian warthog rectum – both understandable – and…airplane food.
Despite traveling constantly, and practically living on a plane, he refuses to eat a bite of airplane food.
“Never,” said Bourdain. “No one has ever felt better after eating plane food. I think people only eat it because they’re bored. I don’t eat on planes. I like to arrive hungry.”
It doesn’t matter where he’s traveling, for how long, and if he’s in first class or not (let’s be real, he probably is). He has his method to stay alive for the trip though.
“For a super-long flight, I’d order cheese and s**t load of port. I’d eat some cheese and drink myself stupid,” he said.
Maybe if airplanes altered their menu – say, adding beating cobra hearts – Bourdain would reconsider, since he’s down for that kind of thing.
