6 Best Thanksgiving Pies

Fill your plate with your favourites this season!

A fantastic piece of pie at the end of a satisfying Thanksgiving meal is one of life’s unforgettable pleasures. Of course, some pies are better than others and getting the best the market has to offer on your plate should be a prime concern this season, along with global warming, the war in the Ukraine and rising inflation.

All kidding aside, finding the best Thanksgiving pie recipes should be easy. That’s why we’ve compiled a list of the best Thanksgiving pies now on the internet (in our opinion).
Check it out.

Best Ever Pumpkin Pie

Those who love pumpkin pie thrive on this traditional recipe that combines the light flavor of pumpkin with sweetened condensed milk and brown sugar. Yes, this recipe is similar, (or the same), as that found on the back of the paper label on cans of condensed milk but it’s there for a reason: it’s a classic. For a heftier taste that packs a bigger punch, double the amount of ginger, nutmeg, cinnamon, and ground cloves.

The Perfect Apple Pie

Pillsbury presents this recipe for perfect apple pie that also resounds as a traditional pie recipe not to be forgotten. It calls for six apples, peeled and sliced, sugar, flour, cinnamon, salt, nutmeg, and lemon juice. Bake your own crust if you like or buy one premade for the same delicious results.

Salted Caramel Pie

For those who love something super sweet, this is the pie to turn to. Sweetened condensed milk and brown sugar combine to create a delectably rich interior that’s impossible to pass up. Graham cracker crumbs form the crust. Homemade whipping cream provides a complimentary topping that may turn out to be even thicker than the pie, itself. Delish!

Cherry Pie

Cherry pie can be time-consuming to make from scratch but it’s worth it. First, you pit the cherries and slice them in half. Then, cook them up in a saucepan with lemon juice and sugar. Cornstarch helps to thicken this mixture. If you don’t have time for all of this but still want a great Thanksgiving pie, purchase canned cherries. They aren’t exactly the same but they’re also delicious and can reap fantastic results your guests will love.

Lemon Cream Pie

All you need is lemon juice, four eggs, sugar, salt, and sour cream for this one. The topping is made from whipped cream, either your own homemade version or store-bought. You’ll also need some gelatin to give the pie a firm character but if it’s going to be eaten soon after it’s been made, this can be skipped too. This pie is a great alternative for those who steer clear of pumpkin and apple pies, but still want to celebrate the season.

Blueberry Pie

Blueberries are often thought of as a summertime treat since they’re harvested in warmer months but they can be used year-round in desserts for delicious effect. As with cherry pie, blueberry pie is ultra-juicy and may garner slightly messy results. Thicken your blueberries with cornstarch as you would your cherries and drain a bit of the juice off if you have to.

Thanksgiving is the perfect time to relax with family and friends and pie marks an ideal end to a joyous meal. Get baking and enjoy!
