4 Reasons Why You Probably Aren’t Taking Care of Your Contact Lenses Properly

From time constraints to saving money, cutting corners can add up.

Contact lenses are amazing. Who would think such a tiny invention would allow you to see properly, with such ease?

The problem is, many of us don’t take care of our contacts in the best way possible. And the scarily enough, these actions can damage your eyesight, permanently.

Here are 5 common reasons you might make mistakes in your contact care:

1) You’re Busy

You run a tight schedule. Sometimes night falls and you simply pass out. But sleeping with your contacts is OK, right? Wrong. These things were made for daytime use and they need to be taken out.

2) You’re Tired

At the end of a long day, you just want a great meal and to sit down. If your contact solution is upstairs, you might think it’s OK to rinse your lenses out with water just this once. Think again. Tap water can contain microscopic bacteria you don’t want in your eyes. Use solution only.

3) You Can’t Remember When You Bought Them

Using your disposable contacts for a bit longer than prescribed is a common mistake. Yes, it helps you save money, but you can scar your eyes by using old contacts that break down.

4) You Didn’t Read the Fine Print

Not sure how long these things last? It’s easy to miss out on the expiry date. Check your containers and stay in the clear.
