Not that you needed one, but here’s yet another reason to love a good brew.
If you don’t really like yogurt and other dairy products but are yearning for a healthier gut, here’s a new solution: drink beer. Well, not just any beer, though- probiotic beer.
While it hasn’t been conclusively proven that intaking probiotics helps your immune system, many doctors recommend it. It basically can’t hurt, and may help.
And if it comes in the form of a can of beer, all the better.
This company based in Michigan sells a brew made from organic fruits like raspberries, peaches and grapefruit. Raw, gluten free, vegan and “bottle conditioned” it’s said to be a good source of the beneficial bacteria you seek.
2) Wild Tonic
“Beer” made from bees? That’s what Wild Tonic, based in Arizona, is offering its customers. Blueberry, Turmeric, Raspberry, and Mango kombucha made with exotic teas and honey is what you’ll find here. Full of prebiotics and probiotics, these drinks will help to keep your gut in good shape.
This one is a type of beer rather than a brand. Click the title above to see a long list of individual brews that fit the name. Described as “a top-fermented, bottle conditioned wheat beer made with both traditional warm-fermenting yeasts and lactobacillus culture,” it’s full of probiotics your belly will love.
This beer isn’t on the market yet, but reports indicate that researchers from the National University of Singapore have developed their own beer using lactic acid bacterium to produce and sour-tasting sharp beer with about a 3.5 alcohol percent.
