3 Ways to Improve Your Eating Habits

So you’ve finally made the decision to improve the way you eat…but where are you going to begin?

We get it – it’s overwhelming at first. What should you eat more of? What should you eat less of? Should you try different cooking methods? Can you still eat fast food?

There’s a lot to digest, so recommend starting with these simple tips to improve your eating habits on a schedule you can stick to:

Make better food choices

food-choices

The days of skipping breakfast and going straight to the drive-thru for a breakfast sandwich, or eating all the doughnuts in the break room are over. Make better food choices, starting with the most important meal of the day, to set the tone for the rest of the day. Opt for healthy whole-grain cereal or plain yogurt with fruit – they’re easy to pack if you can’t eat before leaving for work.

Find better supermarkets

Stop shopping at the convenience store, and go to real supermarkets with fresh foods and produce. If you’re eating a lot of from-scratch recipes, all the better. When you must buy convenience items, consider precut fixings for veggies salads and a roasted chicken for solid, healthy proteins.

Change your cooking style

If your favourite recipes are all breaded and fried, or drowning in butter and cheese, swap these high-calorie cooking techniques with healthier ones. Simple adaptations like switching from frying to boiling or swapping cream-based sauces with pureed versions can make a world of difference.
