Training to beat your best? This shirt is the ultimate training companion for serious athletes. It could also come in handy if you’re lost in a forest and someone else has your phone, allowing them to locate you, while you’re out on a solo trek.
How does it work? Sensors on the front of the shirt track your heart rate. Those located on the back keep track of GPS information and broadcast your training and movement info live. It’s perfect for coaches who wish to monitor exactly what’s working, what could use some tweaking, and where you are.
Researchers from the University of Laval in Canada have invented this smart t-shirt that can monitor your breathing. The shirt has an antennae sewn into the front that works with the fibers in the shirt to detect the wearer’s respiratory rate.
It’s said to be paving the way for clothing that could help diagnose respiratory illnesses. It could also monitor the breathing of people who suffer from asthma, sleep apnea and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.
4) Baby Sock
The Owlet Smart Sock is a sock worn on a baby’s foot that monitors their breathing and sleep using pulse oximetry technology.
The tiny smart device comes with a companion app that delivers data via Bluetooth, in real time, allowing parents to monitor infants 24/7.
Komodo Technologies has created this smart sleeve that uses electrocardiogram (ECG) technology to monitor your heart rate, your workout intensity, sleep patterns, body temperature, air quality and UV exposure.
It’s an invention for fitness buffs, with a little extra health coverage thrown in on the side. The inventors hope that it may also measure stress levels and assist in the detection of heart inflammation and the development of coronary heart disease.
