He’s knowledgeable but quite busy. There are just not enough MDs in Ontario.

Check the CPSO as he has conditions put upon him by the College of Physicians and Surgeons.

He truly cares and that’s the one thing we look for when we try to find a family doctor

Very responsible and knowledgeable. He’s on vacation from time to time but he’s a lot better than the doctor I used to go to. My whole family is with him but he doesn’t take small kids.

Doctor is very knowledgeable. He is very busy but he is very patient to me. Usually it’s one issue per visit but he let me ask my questions. I noticed a lot of people don’t like his receptionist but I don’t think it’s fair to rate the doctor low for that.

I've been looking for a new family doctor and found Dr. Cheng's name on RateMDs site as accepting new patients. Called and waited on line for a very long time - only to then be told that Dr. Cheng is not seeing any new patients and got hung up on.

Dr. CHENG is very helpful and knowledgeable, however his receptionist is absolutely terrible to deal with. She is rude, impatient and extremely off putting. Never have I had to book an appointment 2 weeks after my physical examination report for a follow up. Only with her, sometimes it’s within 2 days, but most of the time it’s 2 weeks. I don’t believe the receptionist is doing her job, she’s old and senile. If these are deliberate attempts in delaying to spite certain patients, she is a murderer in the making. Please fire her.

I don't like to give negative reviews as it could ruin one's reputation. However at this day and age, you know if you do something bad someone's bound to share their thoughts. I would like to positively agree with all the low rating comments below. Everyone knows there aren't enough family physicians in Ontario, and that is a government's problem since there are loads of medical grads each year, so the problem is not with the amount of qualified doctors. However, please work on bed side manner. As a doctor, I would think the important creed is to "do no harm". I walk in feeling hurt each time. I know we are the patients, but can the doctor be a bit more patient? How is rushing me out in less than 2 min going to help me? I don't even have all my questions addressed, and Dr. Cheng said I can't be asking too many things in one visit. And he has to look up the medicine with his little book from 10+ years ago, not sure if it's even relevant. Bottom line, if you have another choice, even if it's a walk-in, you should probably try them before getting stuck here.

Like some other reviews I would also give negative stars if I could. The receptionist is just about the most rude and unprofessional person I have ever dealt with in any capacity. I called to see if the doctor could see my newborn baby, after giving the requested information and a large amount of confusion and disagreeable tone she just said "no doctor to see you" and hung up on me. As I'm an existing patient and needed a refill of a prescription I also needed to see the doctor myself so I had to call back. After saying I'm an existing patient and would like to see my doctor she said "no appointments for three weeks, doctor won't see you" and hung up on me again. A third try to just book an appointment I said I can wait three weeks to see my doctor, don't hang up so I can book an appointment, she starts yelling at me! She has always been terrible to deal with but this was beyond acceptable. If this was for anything other than healthcare I would never want to see this person again. If it wasn't so hard to find another doctor taking new patients I would switch in a heartbeat. Dr Cheng himself is okay, doesn't really care but at least reasonably polite. Dealing with the receptionist is just such an awful experience I'm certain patients are avoiding seeing their doctor to avoid dealing with her, if they can even book an appointment through her in the first place.
