Have come back to leave a review several years after terminated treatment. don’t see this dr if you want to question your treatment- appears to support you but if you end up in tears you get the ‘I told you so look’

I saw Dr. McLachlan for at least 10 years. She was pro medication, and didn't believe that I could get off of them (I was diag-nonsensed "bipolar"). After the lithium damaged my kidneys (diabetes insipidus) and the antidepressants damaged my metabolism - I insisted on coming off the drugs. She didn't like it, but she had helpful suggestions, such as a daily 5 min walk in the sun - to work on my mood. I successfully came off, and she was helpful with mindful suggestions. I believe she really cares about her patients, and even though I was going against her advice, we were able to maintain that relationship. After coming off the drugs - I am not "bipolar," that was induced by the psych drugs. Yes, I still have moods, but I am not at the mercy of the toxic chemicals-for-life that psychiatry is so fond of. We ended our relationship on a fairly positive note, though she did not recognise the damages caused by the drugs.
