Biography
Beginnings and Education With a keen interest in health sciences and oral health issues, dentistry was a natural choice for Dr. Amreesh Khanna. After graduating from the University of Alberta on the Dean’s List with a Bachelor of Medical Science, Dr. Khanna eagerly expanded his education with a Doctorate in Dental Surgery, followed by additional training at the Montefiore Medical Center’s Albert Einstein University Hospital in New York. While there, he expanded his dental knowledge to include inserting dental implants, occlusion and bite treatments, and sedation dentistry. Patient Interaction Though he has always had an interest in health care, Dr. Khanna also values interaction with his patients. The continuity of care at a dental practice appealed to him, and so did the flexibility that allows him to plan a family with his wife, Dr. Anuja Patel—who also works as a dentist at Midtown Dental. Memberships and Volunteer Work Dr. Khanna is a Fellow of the International Congress of Oral Implantologists (FICOI), and is also part of the Alberta Dental Association (ADA) as well as the Alberta Dental Society of Anesthesiology. He has also volunteered at the CUPS Primary Care Medical Clinic, providing free dental care to low-income patients who do not have easy access to quality procedures. New Practice After the loss of Midtown Dental’s previous clinic due to the Calgary flooding of 2013, Dr. Khanna moved with the practice to its current location. With more space and better facilities for both surgical and anaesthetic procedures, Dr. Khanna looks forward to taking advantage of his new tools to bring his patients better care than he could at Midtown’s old location. Preventative care remains a priority, and he hopes to continue building his relationships with his patients. Personal Life Outside of his work at Midtown Dental, Dr. Khanna enjoys spending time with his family, especially his young daughter, travelling the world and hopes to cross a few more items off of his bucket list with Anuja in the coming years. He also enjoys scuba diving, and looks forward to his next chance to dive underwater.

Dr. Khanna performed my wisdom teeth extractions. I appreciated his and his staff's professionalism and knowledge when I visited the clinic. I felt that they went beyond expectations to help me feel comfortable and address my nervousness during the procedure. I had minimal pain after the procedure and the recovery has been good so far. Highly recommend!
