Good luck getting an appointment or if I'm as it seems like he has other things to do besides see his patience and actually you know be a doctor and provide care. But even when you do get to see them all he'll do is try to start arguments with you and attack anything you mention, also blurts out random s*** interrupting you in the middle of a sentence that you may be giving with just rude and inappropriate comments. Attacks your appearance, no way in hell should a doctor be questioning why I have my hair the way I do. I should have requested not seeing him for appointments anymore sooner and it's a regret that I didn't, I recommend anyone who is seeing him to do the same rather than have him drag them down. You know the doctors a problem when I after every appointment with them you will you feeling worse than you did going in

One if the worst experiences I've ever had, he selectively listens and to what you say and fixates on it.

Zero "bed side manner" or ability to talk properly communicate with patients

absolutely horrible doctor, all he does is throw veiled accusations and attempts at blame that whatever you are going through is your fault.

I had an appalling experience with Dr. Adrian Edgar. I went to him for a referral for a gender affirming surgery. I was so happy to have gotten an appointment with a doctor who I assumed would be familiar with my experiences and willing to help. Instead, he treated me with disrespect and cruelty.
Dr. Edgar decided that I did not "pass" to his standards. He told me my voice wasn't deep enough, that I didn't bind good enough, and said I wasn't trying hard enough to "pass". He then tried to increase my HRT dose without my input, and going over the head of my endocrinologist who I trusted and had worked with for years.
He also repeatedly accused me of being a sex worker, the repeated questions of very intimate details left me feeling violated and humiliated. He even yelled at me and accused me of lying. I'm not sure why he thought that about me, but it was deeply hurtful to be accused that way and his pushy and aggressive attituded made me feel very uncomfortable.
In the end, he denied my request for a referral for gender affirming surgery. He said my anxiety that was being actively treated and proven to be well under-control, left me unable to get follow up care since it would somehow stop me from being able to talk on the phone. He didn't care about the fact that I had called his office (yes - using the phone) to get that appointment in the first place.
I am shocked appalled by the lack of professionalism and compassion displayed by Dr. Adrian Edgar. Now that he has moved to PEI I have been making an active effort to warn my transgender friends and neighbors to avoid this doctor at all costs. The news continues to parade him as a hero to transgender people, but from my experience and the experiences of my friends I know for a fact that he causes more harm than good to transgender healthcare.
If you have seen this doctor and been denied or delayed care, please know there is still hope. Through hard work I was able to get treatment from doctors who truly cared about my well being. Don't give up advocating for yourself and the care you deserve.

Dr Edgar has been my family doctor for three years! I have nothing but good things to say: I have received top quality healthcare, he is able to see me when I feel necessary, tests are comprehensive and thorough & I have always received prompt feedback on test results.

I have been referred to appropriate specialists when necessary and received follow-up in terms of the way forward with a treatment plan.

I would recommend Dr Edgar to family, friends, colleagues. I’m fortunate to be under his care for the past few years!!!

I'm trans masculine, felt completely invalidated by him. Constantly asking me why I thought I was trans - I don't think I'm trans, I am.
Gave false information, was dismissive over my feelings, and even made me cry halfway through our meeting.
PEI needs better doctors, ones that will listen.

I have been seeing dr Edgar for some time as a family doctor. He is absolutely terrible, doesn’t listen to a word you say about what’s going on in your life about your condition. I have a literal disability but the man won’t help me in any way but fight with me constantly. AVOID THIS MAN AT ALL COSTS

Still hate this man to this day. Transphobic. Do not see him. He should not still be practicing. He lacks empathy. I was mistreated emotionally and he physically hurt me by forcing me to inject with a too-large needle. He is a good example of the banality of evil.

I wasn't a patient of his, but my partner was. Based on his experience and the other comments I've read here, I can pretty easily conclude that he's a straight up trans-medicalist. If you want anything other than the most straightforward transition with cis-passing as your goal, you will be pressured, manipulated and gaslit into medical decisions that could have longterm negative impacts on your health and wellbeing.

He seems to have no issue spreading blatant lies that can be easily refuted by a quick google search. Like saying that you NEED to be on testosterone to get top surgery, because otherwise your body's estrogen would cause your breasts to grow back after surgery. That is the biggest myth I have ever seen used to scare so many nonbinary and transmasculine people who don't want to do hrt out of seeking a life-saving surgery. The GRS actually says point blank on their info page that you do not need to be on hormones to have top surgery. The fact that a supposed trans specialist, an actual trans person, or any medical professional at all would tell this to a patient and spread such dangerous misinformation absolutely sickens me.

He is an irresponsible and incompetent doctor who should have his license revoked. Period.
