I met Dr Scheer while accompanying my younger sister to her pre surgery appointment. I was immediately impressed by her demeanour empathy and knowledge. Two weeks later I was diagnosed with an aggressive breast cancer. There was no one else that I would want to treat me. She immediately linked my file with my sister’s, did a deep dive into our genetic background collaborated with the medical oncologists and other specialists to ensure that my overall health was stable. Recovery from my surgery was beyond my expectations. I required ongoing treatments for over 18 months post surgery. Whenever, I hit a brick wall Dr Scheer was always there to support me….the person. She is a remarkable human and a gifted surgeon. Her entire team clearly exemplifies a culture that is consistent with this very high standard of excellent medical care.

When I was diagnosed with breast cancer. I was directed to her by my FD and immediately looked her up on RMD. Her great reviews put me at ease. When I met her I was even more delighted by her demeanor. I prefer a sense of humor, even in what can be a dire situation like cancer. It takes the edge off. She definitely brought that, when she could see that was my style. She was very informative and her skills are top notch. Its only been 1 month since surgery and there are no visible scars on my breast where the lumpectomy was done. I wish she was my medical oncologist as well. LOVE HER!!!

I was diagnosed with breast cancer by Dr. Scheer. She was the kindest, most knowledgeable and compassionate doctor. She took the time to answer all my questions. Made herself available for an in between appointment to look at what I thought was an infection after my surgery. (It wasn't). I apologized for wasting her time and she reassured me that she was available for any concerns and questions. Dr. Scheer went above and beyond that day! Highly recommend her and her great team. I was absolutely shocked when I found out that I had breast cancer in May 2022 when my mammogram from February 2021 was normal.

Dr. Scheer very quickly put my mind at ease with her reassuring demeanor and her professionalism. She took the time and clearly explained the treatment options and process, which helped me make a firm decision. She told me, "At the end of the day, we will do whatever lets you sleep better at night."

Dr. Scheer is an outstanding surgeon and works with an incredible team, who takes care of all the details and keeps you informed. The staff at St. Michael's Hospital Breast Centre provides excellent patient care. A special thank you to Sofia, her assistant, for her consistent dependable support.

3 weeks ago I had my surgery to remove abnormal cells. Before we got to the that Dr Sheer explained to me in simplest terms what it means now and may be down road. She is very knowledgeable, patience, empathetic and caring. I felt safe and confident that I’m in good hands. dr made it very easy for me to trust her, and she answered my questions and that led conversation into more details. She was generous with her time. As it turns out I was one of the lucky ones to be in benign category even than she is to continue her care with routine mammograms to ensure i’m taken best care. I could not ask was more understanding doctor during one of the most trying times. She also has a sense of humour! I highly recommend Dr Sheer she will have your back. I had a lumpectomy done by Dr. Scheer last week. I am so blessed to have Dr. Scheer as my surgeon. First time when I met her, I already had confidence in her. She made me feel safe and comfortable.
The surgery went well. the whole surgical team was very efficient and completely professional. I am so appreciated that the anesthetist kept on monitoring me in the whole procedure, I can hear his encourage voice before I felt asleep and when bearly awake.
My recovery is good, had no complications. I am looking forward to see Dr. Scheer for the follow up appointment. I know I am in good hands, to continue other treatments as needed.
Thank you Dr. Scheer and your wonderful medical team, and the support stuffs in your office, helping me through this difficult time.
