In one word - HORRIFIC! Dr is nice and seems competent but her entire staff is the worst! I was in agonizing pain several days after a pelvic exam and called to discuss it with her. FIVE days later she called me back saying that she hadn't received any message. And she only called after I told her nurse I would no longer need their services because her staff was totally incompetent. As I said to the Dr, while I may think she's competent, how does that help me if I can't reach her when I need her? Do yourself a favor and look for another OB/GYN!

Dr. Pastore should be ashamed. The reason I am finally rating her and switching doctors is that on my most recent visit, she said she felt something like a cyst in my ovary. I also told her I was having highly irregular periods, heavy bleeding between periods, and pain in what could be my ovaries. She sent me to get a sonogram without prepping me for what is actually was. Turns out it was a highly invasive internal sonogram, which said I did not have a cyst. Dr. Pastore promised she'd be in touch to discuss the results but never was, and when I called her office they told me she was on vacation every day for a 3 week period. When she finally called me, she said she forgot if we did a Pap or not (when we of course had!) So unprofessional. Now I need to switch doctors and pay for these tests all over again. Not to mention I am a bit traumatized from these misdiagnoses, and for no helpful information as to what my symptoms may mean! Also her nurse didn't wear gloves when drawing my blood.

I was seeing Dr. Pastore for my first pregnancy. When I noticed spotting and I called, their response was "you're probably fine, if you're worried then go to an ER." When I actually miscarried, she didn't even speak to me that day. I had to physically show up at her office to get questions answered bc I couldnt get through to her. When I experienced severe pain and excessive bleeding after the D&C procedure and called for help, I got the standard-"I'm sure you're fine, but go to an ER if you're worried" line. Her office staff is like no medical staff I have ever encountered - rude, unresponsive, and unreliable. When I switched doctors, it took over 5 painful phone calls to get my records transferred. When I attempted to provide feedback on her staff, she defended them, stating they don't always know what is happening. I suggested she train them to be nice and considerate to ALL her patients regardless of what condition they are in. Who knows if she ever passed that feedback on.

Dr. Pastore delivered my first child and I am so incredibly grateful to her. I have read some of the other reviews on this site and I am disappointed that the staff reviews are the focus of most people's comments. The most important thing in finding a doctor is their knowledge and expertise. At least that was the case for me and Dr. Pastore is extremely knowledgable and I would put my trust in her time and time again. She sat with me for 3 days when I was delivering. I wasn't progressing quickly and she never gave up on me or passed me over for another doctor even after her shift had ended. I had a high risk pregnancy and she was extremely careful and thoughtful and made sure we were doing everything we could to make sure I was okay and the baby was okay. And we were! Yes the staff are a little rough around the edges but they are nice if you are nice and a smile goes a long way. Dr. Pastore is an extremely dedicated doctor and I highly recommend her.

Dr. Pastore's staff is horrible. They simply do not understand the word emergency, nor do they care. She wouldl be better off hiring kindergarteners to answer her phones. Also, Dr. Pastore has rescheduled my last 2 appointments at the last minute without explanation and left me with another doctor in her practice. I am 6 months pregnant and I am switching doctors!

The office feels like you are in an institution/clinic. The Doctor permits her staff and abusive nurses (LPNs - not RNs) straight out of central casting to make decisions and dictate to her! There is absolutely no warmth whatsoever, you are rushed, and there is zero follow-up from the Doctor, who by the way, clearly doesn't think she is the decision maker. If you have an emergency, do not count on her. She is completely unavailable and will have to speak only to her nurses (again, not RN's)! Be warned: Stay away from this office!

Dr Pastore is great, but her staff is the ABSOLUTE WORST. Beyond incompetent. I am seriously considering switching doctors because I cannot take the 3-4 phone calls it takes just to schedule an appointment where some secretary will inevitably put me on hold and leave me there for 10 minutes. Unacceptable. It makes me worry about their entire operation.

I am new to New York City, and I wanted to find a female gynecologist. Since Dr. Pastore's ratings were high, I decided to make an appointment. I called on August 23 and was told Dr. Pastore had availability starting October 4. I recently had my first appointment, and I had a great experience. The office is busy, with lots of people walking around, and it is possible to overhear many of the staff leaving phone messages. Dr. Pastore met with me in her office, and I found her to be very nice, knowledgable, patient, succint, and an overall friendly person! I think she really enjoys her job. I then went on to the exam room where she examined me. Three days later, Dr. Pastore herself (not an assistant) left me a message on my cell phone about my bloodwork. I was really impressed. The following morning, another doctor from the office called me to make sure I had received Dr. Pastore's message. I think Dr. Pastore's office is extremely kind and caring, and I highly recommend them!

I have been seeing Dr. Pastore for many years, the visits for regular check-ups are very short & routine - wait can be anywhere from 15 mins to an hour, she will spend no more than 7 minutes. However, she is very nice and knowledgable, and she does spend her time with you if there is any complications. She has been easier to reach during my prenancy, they give priority to pregnant women. I agree with the other reviews here, her staff, especially the receptionists, does leave alot to be desired, they should be more caring and sensitive to the needs of her patients even if Dr is busy.
