What a great person and heart surgeon! I met with Dr. Perchinsky for the first time on a Wednesday and he explained everything so clearly and left me feeling completely confident in his ability to replace my aortic heart valve. So much so that I agreed then to have it done the following Monday. As I was wheeled into the operating room, he was there with a pat on the shoulder and words that left me completely relax about this surgery. Just a wonderful person and a stellar surgeon.

We consider Dr. Michael Perchinsky one of the best heart surgeons in Victoria. After 4 bypasses in 2006, he agreed to operate on me in 2022 for 2 valves and a bypass. It turned to be a very difficult surgery. His team was excellent in informing my wife and dealing with my condition. The expertise really saved my life. We really are thankful for all staff in the cardiac unit. God Bless you all.❤️

He visited my mother at the Royal Jubilee. Apparently she wasn't eligible for surgery which he detailed to her in the most belittling, arrogant way. I have no idea what his capability is as a surgeon but as a human, he sucks.

It was kind of a surprise to me that I needed valve replacement surgery as quickly as I apparently did. I had put it to the back of my mind from several years ago. When I went in to see Dr. Perchinsky, he was absolutely wonderful. So kind. He explained my choices to me and I left his office feeling very confident. My surgery went so well! My incision is hardly noticeable. Thank you Dr. Perchinsky, from the bottom of my heart. You are indeed a very special person.

I can hardly express my appreciation and admiration for Dr. Perchinsky. He performed a multi bypass procedure on me (6) and I was home feeling remarkably well on the 5th day. He visited with me in hospital every day during my stay, which brought me great comfort. This man is at the top of his field and I feel blessed to have him as my surgeon!

I'm giving one star for everything for this surgeon. In two words "god complex" comes to mind. He's rude, obnoxious, contentious. Some things are genetic so he should not paint all with one brush. Important note: His office staff were pleasant and accommodating, I give them a 5 star rating, but the staff in the ICU at Royal Jubilee Hospital were horrific, "American Horror story" nasty. Truly a horrible man. There are several cardiothoracic surgeons in Victoria, choose anyone but him.

Perchinsky is under investigation for covering up a catastrophic, non-consensual cardiac procedure arranged by his disgraced colleague Dr. Paul Novak, which perforated a patient's aortic valve.

Dr. Perchinsky is very professional and very informative. I left the office feeling at ease and confident that I am in great hands. He was kind and very articulate. I believe him to be on top of his craft. Thank you for seeing me and being my surgeon.
