My wife and I are convinced Dr. Mukundan saved our daughter's life. She contracted pneumonia in the recesses of her lungs - it couldn't be detected through listening to her breathing. Our former pediatrician took up to 3 weeks for blood tests to come back. But Dr. Mukundan's team monitored blood counts quickly and often. They called us to go straight to Vanderbilt Children's Hospital ER due to low red counts and elevated white counts-she was going downhill fast. When we got there, Dr. Mukundan met us there since he's an attending physician. He met with a small team of diagnosticians and mentioned one of the first steps was to take an x-ray of her lungs to rule out "hidden" pneumonia. After she had blood drawn and x-rays, he called us from his personal cell phone to tell us the x-rays revealed pneumonia. We were relieved it wasn't more serious, and will forever be grateful that Dr. Mukundan's expertise and diligence likely saved a life.
