I am in my early forties and have a sleeping baby on top of me and for some reason memories of Dr Kiteala flooded my mind. I wish he could have met my kids. He was such an amazing ped but most importantly human being. He was so caring and thorough. I will never find a ped like that for my kids. His laugh and smile are forever entrained in my mind.

Very saddened to hear of Dr John (Chico) Kiteala and his passing away. I knew him as a friend not as a patient when I was dating his daughter Lori. I was 16 years old at the time and as I reflect back to those days some 40 years ago I remember him as a very warm, caring and compassionate man. I would like to share a beautiful story amongst other stories about John. There was once a time at his home he offered me some dinner and for some reason I gratefully and thankfully declined his hospitality. At that time as a young man I had no direction in life no job and was behind on my rent I was quite thin as well. At some point I left his home and walked home it took me approximately 45 minutes. When I arrived at my appartement I was hungry and searched the kitchen for food and I found some pasta and a can of spaghetti sauce and that was all there was. As I began to cook the pasta someone knocked at the door and to my surprise there he was Chico! Dr K. At my door asking me what I was doing as we walked into my kitchen. At that point all the cards were on the table he knew exactly how life was for me. He realized that yes I was hungry at his home but I was too proud to accept his gracious hospitality.
There are not many people with this beautiful character that John had but when they enter your life you will still remember their profound acts of kindness for others yes even 40 years later.
Here’s to you John (Chico) you remain as a tender hearted creation of our God Yahweh and may you rest peacefully my friend.

Dr. Kiteala, was not only a pediatrician but a friend, always will to give advise even to the parents. The greatest pediatrician even lived.
I am truly lucky both of my children (Eileen and Brandon Ortiz) were attended by him.
We all loved Dr. Kiteala and truly missed him.
He left too soon, wished he could have stayed longer. He was a blessing . His contagious smile and laughter we always imagine when ever we think of him.
May he rest in peace for he truly was an Angel on earth.
His son Brain was very helpful and kind.
It was a pleasure knowing you too Brian.

Dr Kiteala was our candle in gloomy days. He was there whever we needed him bringing joy to my kids and I. RIP Dear doctor. You are a legend we will never ever forget you. My kids love you forever. Brian you did a geat job we are all missing you.

Dr. Kiteala came to our house when i was 2 years old, during a snow storm. I was hallucinating with a high fever, and my dad's car couldn't get up the hill. Dr. K drove to the bottom of the hill and walked up in the snow with his doctor's bag to take care of me. Dr. Kiteala is an old-school legend.

Dr Kiteala, you were my doctor since birth untill adolesence, and i am now forty years old. You were a wonderfull human being, and a very competant doctor. You were a true humanitarian. I try to help my fellow man as you did. Rest in peace sir. And following your example "Ad Astra Nitamur, Semper Ad Optima".
