I had vomited 8 times already due to panic induced cyclical vomiting when I came into the ER. Dr Mathis refused me an IV. He also refused me any medicine that would stop my convulsions. It appeared to me that he had some pre disposed problem with me, and he was very unwilling to treat me in the way I needed to be based on some kind of falsified morals he has for himself. He actually went as far as to tell me I was "addicted" to this medication. A medication I had not taken in months. I found it quite assumptive and rude, as well as extremely out of line for a medical professional. I left scripps, still dehydrated and nauseous and STILL in the throes of one of the most severe panic attacks I have ever had. I went to SHARP after and they had no problem helping me, and I was better within 2 hours. All in all, if you do end up in Scripps Encinitas, ask the staff not to put you in one of Dr. Philip C Mathis' rooms. If you want to actually feel better, that is. If you can, try to go to a SHARP hospital. I have been to the ER many times for my condition and I have never been treated like some kind of delinquent at SHARP in my life. Nothing but courtesy at SHARP. Dr. Mathis doesn't represent the Scripps institution very well in my opinion, and hopefully the next time, if ever, I have another emergency a SHARP hospital will be in my vicinity. Scripps can literally thank Dr. Phillip C. Mathis for probably losing them thousands and thousands of dollars. Thank you.
