I researched Dr. Chapman before talking with my GP about my neurological issues ( numbness in the front of my right quadriceps and numbness at the bottom inside of each ankle and calf ) and loved what I read about her education and experience. Plus she seemed to have a nice warm disposition and smile. I felt confident and safe speaking with my GP about her and he referred me to see her.
When the appt was made, I was told that I would be seeing Dr. Chapman in person to do the assessment and tests.
I had one virtual initial appt with her, which went OK. During that virtual appt, she explained to me what type of tests she will need to do, and she confirmed with me that she would be there to conduct each test, so I felt confident about what was next.
When the date came for my testing at her clinic within VGH, her receptionist's attitude was completely apathetic, patronizing and demeaning. And when it came time for the testing, in walked a male student dr. who explained to me that he would be doing the testing. I explained to him that was not what I was told by Dr. Chapman, and he then explained to me that she would be in to talk with me after the testing had been completed. I was now feeling uncomfortable with the ill communication and wanted to leave but I had waited over a year for this visit so I decided to go through with the testing part of the visit.
The testing had been completed, and I waited for Dr. Chapman to walk in.
Instead, an older male neurologist walked in and he explained to me that Dr. Chapman had not come in for that day and that he was filling in for her. And this male neurologist was very unable and unwilling to listen to me, he was intentionally interruptive and spoke to me like a child.
I left the first in-person appt and dr. chapman's clinic was extremely disappointed and upset at the treatment by her receptionist, by treatment by the male neurologist, and most importantly by the ill communication from dr. chapman.
When I asked her receptionist via email to speak with dr. chapman after the appt dr. chapman called me, and now ( just like her male neurologist replacement ) immediately began rushing the conversation and speaking directly over the top of every question and every word that I tried to ask her. I was given NO explanation by her why she was not there in person for my first visit. And she said that she had no idea why I had numbness in my legs.
Even though, dr. chapman has a decent write-up of her education and experience online, I give her and her colleague and admin staff a ZERO star rating.
I have since learned from a friend on Facebook (who is an advanced chiropractor in the Mediterranean area ) that it sounds like I have " entrapment of the femoral nerve " which it turns out is exactly what my new neurologist thinks I have. It also turns out that my new neurologist also has entrapment of the femoral nerve, the same condition which has been causing me immense neurological issues.
So, my point is, that even though kristine chapman spoke with me in length about my symptoms during my initial virtual appt with her, and in spite of all of the testing ( EMG and other testing ) that her colleagues did, they had NO prognosis for me, I ended up learning what conditions was likely causing my neurological issues from a friend on Facebook.
I strongly do NOT recommend seeking any help from dr. kristine chapman and/or her colleagues.
