I have been with Dr. Veale since he began practice in Auburn with Auburn Family Care and continued with his new MDVIP program. I had no had a full physical exam until then. The nurses and other staff are helpful and knowledgeable. Some may be unhappy with the new program because of the cost, but it is worth the time. Recently, I was feeling ill on a Sunday night and I called the office thinking I would be transferred to a nurse, but to my surprise, Dr. Veale answered and asked if I could come in before 8:00 am the next morning and he could work me in before his first scheduled patient. I totally trust his judgement with my prescriptions and I have always found him to be in good spirits even after the end of a long day when I could tell he was totally exhausted.

Receptionists are usually unhelpful and very curt. Not a warm environment. It's a shame, because Dr. Veale seems to really understand my condition (hypothyroidism), but with the new program they are in, the place seems a little more shady than normal. He really tries to treat you as a whole patient, but I wholeheartedly disagree with how much he overmedicates patients. I was born with hypothyroidism, but I have had many friends who went to him and came back to tell me they were now taking synthroid because they were diagnosed with my condition. Sounded scammy to me. Wait times are also long.

Be careful! This office is very shady and don't expect them to be around much longer. No management and very angry unhappy doctor. He needs to retire

Be careful to take your children to see this doctor. He doest not take to check my kid and not listen to me when I try to tell him how sick of my kid and not even answer my question well. Bad doctor I had ever meet

Changed doctors after a few visits with this one. I found him to be rude and spent too much time with the reps from drug companies while patients were waiting longer than necessary. He also misdiagnosed and over medicated.

If you are very fortunate, you have Charles Veale as your primary care physician. He is, quite literally, the only physician within 120 miles (until you get to Atlanta) who has the desire, and the knowledge, to treat the "entire patient." That is, he treats the causes of his patients' symptoms, rather than treating the symptoms themselves. As such, he faces several problems: (1) Insurance companies who do not want to move into the 21st century (yes I'm talking about you, Blue Cross); (2) patient overload because he has such an incredibly busy practice; and last but not least (3) patients who will not pay attention to what he tells them. Significantly, Dr. Veale has the good sense to include bio-identical hormones in treating his patients' overall wellness. The medical establishment simply lags behind physicians such as Dr. Veale. DISCLOSURE: my family and I have been patients of Dr. Veale's for some 30 years.

I've been going to Dr. Veale for a couple years and they have been wonderful until this past year. I lost my insurance and have since had a difficult time. The hour long wait to see the doctor and the INCREDIBLY rude blonde receptionist aside, I will be changing drs immediately due to the fact that all they needed to do was write a dispute letter to my insurance co. saying my 10 year OLD cancer dignoses (which I've been in remission for almost 8 yrs from) is not a factor in my health. They waited almost 3 wks to do so causing me more stress and problems claiming that BCBS wouldnt listen anyways. I am baffles by their behavior and attitudes lately and will never be back nor refer anyone there.

Been seeing him 30 years. Good doc but has missed several things (ht.murmur, etc.).because rarely examines me. Has watched me deteriorate last few yrs and just now told me he doesn't deal with disability claims. Office doesn't complete forms in a timely manner and even then you have to call them daily and sometimes come in in person and get stern with them. I've had to cjange doctors--not something I take lightly. Joy, his CRNP, is awesome and I will miss her.

Been going to Dr. Veale since I was in college in the early 90s. He has always been great to help with anything that ails me. He was also a godsend for my son when the Pediatric clinic kept prescribing antibiotics not strong enough to get rid of an ear infection, an ordeal that lasted months - one trip to dr veale and no more ear infection! I don't take my son anywhere else.
