Went to Winchester before my chemo which is suggested before treatments. I was new so had xrays & exam & talked into having cleaning. All was ok. My husband had decided to have his teeth ckd out too. He had xrays & had a cavity & was talked into having cleaning. At time I quit my job due to illness & my husband was working 2 jobs. He had ins at both but his secondary ins had chgd. Because of that I rcvd a call f/clerical staff yelling at me "she was tired of having to contact the secondary ins co" blah blah (bear in mind I was not feeling well). She proceeded with, "you need to come in & pay the full amt right away." Well, we pd some cash up front as requested & was hoping ins might help pay some more & was going to mk payments only because of having cancer. I called my husband ASAP so he called & told them his secondary ins had chgd, gave them info & told them he didn't appreciate rude call. We decided the doctor seemed ok as dentists go but didn't like pushiness & rudeness.

Dr Winchester charges an arm and a leg for the same services you could get at other offices nearby. The staff is also rude and expect you to pay the entire bill (based on estimates if they have estimates insurance will cover). However, these estimates are incorrect, which forces you to pay more and then get credit back later (inconvenient)! I've gone to other dentists and they have NEVER done that to me. My teeth also hurt MORE afterwards, and I have NO CAVITIES. Although he may be a good dentist/nice person, I'm NOT going back or recommending his staff.

Dr. Winchester himself is very knowledgable but his front office staff is the worst I have ever encountered in a Dr's office. When I arrived they told me that somebody had called and canceled my apt which was not possible b/c nobody but me knew I had the apt. When I asked to speak to the Dr for a sec they told me he was very busy. I told them I would be happy to wait. While waiting one staff member stated this was not the first time this had happened and she was very sorry. Well after an hr still no Dr. so I asked for my file and was told they didn't have time to make a copy of it right now that I would have to come back. Well I feel like if the Dr. can't take 2 mins to speak with me then he does not really care about his pait. I don't rec. anybody go here if you are looking for a kind caring Dr.
