My 93 year old mother lost most of her vision after a virus attack a year ago and has started seeing Dr Chew last few months.. Dr Chew has been very kind, attentive and easy to talk to. Earlier this year my mom got attacked by sudden high eye pressure and she was attended by Dr Chew. However due to her allergic reaction to the new eyedrop, Dr Chew was very responsive to her situation and promptly made changes to her prescription few times and eventually got the situation controlled. My mom 's vision deteriorated further. Upon further consultation with Dr Chew, she was given another chance for cornea transplant. The operation went well however during recovery, she suffered from high eyes pressure again. Dr Chew was very responsible and followed up with my mom very closely. Called us on Sunday morning and even returned to office to follow up with her treatment. Our family is really appreciative of his caring and responsible attitude towards patient. My mom is very lucky to have Dr Chew as her eye specialist.

Dr. Hal Chew did two, partial corneal transplants for me in 2011 and 2014. He did a fabulous job and they are still doing well. I heard that he moved out to Vancouver this summer. Good luck at your new eye centre Doctor Chew! Gail Mcindoe

Doctor Chew? The best doctor ever.i truly am saddened by his departure to Vancouver. I had a cornea transplant in 2011 and couldn’t have asked for better care.

Dr.Chew has been my doctor for over 7 years even though I live 5 hrs. away,always ready to see me in an emerg. Three mths. ago my cornea transplant I had 50 years ago is ready to perforate due to a virus,he's been treating me but told me he is leaving Sunnybrook.Not a good visit that day as I will be losing my eye also. He was excellent, always polite,talkative, very knowledgeable. Yes this hospital sure lost a great doctor on their team. ! Next wk. I will be back at Sunnybrook to meet the new doctor taking Dr.Chew's place, who will be removing my eye. Sure whoever I meet will be fine as Sunnybrook has the finest doctors. But I will sure miss Dr.Chew. Vancouver is very lucky & will love him & his expertise.

After many years and both eyes receiving cornea transplants, they continue to be healthy. His warm greetings at appointments along with caring attention is very calming. I appreciate the excellent service by his staff. Heartfelt thanks to Dr. Chew for providing me with good vision.

Dr Chew is not only a proficient Ophthalmologist, he is an amazing human being. I have never felt rushed even though he is extremely busy. He is very thorough, and answered any questions I raised. Dr. Hall Chew is a fantastic doctor who took very good care of my mother Nirmal Chand. He is very professional in his field. Always very positive, uplifting, smiling, and above all very kind in his way of explaining. He knows exactly what he is doing professionally.
