Dr. Karun delivered both of my Girls, she did an amazing job with both of them. I didnt tear with either of them, she always asked what I wanted to do as my labor progressed. She always listened to my concerns and problems outside of being pregnant. She really cared for me. Also my 2nd child I had cholestasis with, Dr. Karun induced me at 36 weeks because she didnt want to risk my little girls life considering my liver numbers kept increasing by The day. She save my baby girl and I will never go to another doctor to deliver my future kids and do all my OB care. Thanks Dr. Karun

First off if you put your hand out to shake my hand, I expect a hand grasp worthy of your title and not a limp little fragile hand. Totally rude bedside manner. Don't hand me a brochure to read up on what I know I have and you think I have, if you can't even tell me anything about it. No where on your area's of interest does it say endometriosis so why couldn't you refer me to someone that does specialize in it??? This place is a joke.

Dr Alison was very knowledgeable in what she does!! I had my first child at 39 and she truly wiped away my fear of having a child. Once you get to know her!? You will love her! Very good doctor!!!! I was very impressed and pleased to have her as my doctor! My fiance was very much impressed with her being my doctor for delivery! As he says " she knows her stuff"! Haha

Dr. Karun delivered my daughter just over a year ago. At her 20 week anatomy scan, she was diagnosed with SUA, an umbilical cord deformity which isn't something super common. She reassured me that my daughter was perfectly healthy and measuring just where she should. Dr. Karun immediately referred me to a perinatologist to verify her findings. I was then closely monitored the rest of my pregnancy. I was induced at 39 weeks for high bp and ended up needing an emergency c section. She was quick to act (from my room to the operating room within minutes) and assured me through the entire process that everything was fine. I never questioned my care with her. I have a happy, healthy one year old today thanks to Dr. Karun.

As a OB nurse I would expect a better bedside and also also expect to see someone want to help their patients understand. While she was on my care team as backup doctor, after my recent interaction with her she has been removed.

Terrible bedside manner extrememly rude and condescending. Shetold me while I was having a miscarriage that my baby wasn't a baby.

I agree, very condescending attitude -- cold and unapproachable, which isn't the sort of personality a gynecologist should have. Very disappointed in her, though her nurse was very very nice. Not what I would have expected from SCRMC

I was suppose to have a procedure done & no one told me that I would need to do a pregnancy test the morning of or they would refuse to do the procedure. I was unable to give a urine sample so Dr Karun refused to do the procedure even though no one from the hospital gave me any instruction beforehand that this was required. She told me that I "should've known" I would need to do a pregnancy test! She said I would have to reschedule the procedure & wait another several weeks to get it done! She seems more concerned about covering her own a** rather than giving quality care to her patients! Very rude & condescending. Then 2 1/2 months later I received a bill from her for an office visit even though she literally did nothing except tell me she was going to do nothing! Outrageous! I will no longer go to this hospital for anything & good thing because as it turns out I had a more advanced case & needed a larger operation or probably would have full on cancer by now!

I met with Dr. Karun today for the first time. She was very helpful, pleasant and, though I didn't have any major questions, she seemed very knowledgeable. My appointment was very prompt. I am very, very picky about which doctor handles my medical needs. I was very impressed with Dr. Karun and I will continue to go to her for my gynecology needs in the future. I highly recommend her.
