EXCELLENT! The perfect example of a doctor. Performed live-saving surgery on my mother. My family and I are extremely grateful to this man. I have never witnessed someone so dedicated to their craft. He is kind, humble and skilled. An amazing human being and an even greater surgeon. I wish him all the best.

I have never seen a doctor go over so much information before hand to make sure the patient feels comfortable with the procedure. His bed side manner is second to none. I was in for surgery with him on a Thursday. If he wasn’t in checking in on me, he was calling. He is a brilliant and very knowledgeable talented surgery.

Dr Perrot is a remarkable man with reference to his kindness , his great concern for , care of , and dedication to his patients . I have no idea if my actual condition has a covering name , but it consisted of both lungs being filled with blood clots , and a clot also in my heart . He performed my surgery , and with the support of excellent doctors and quantities of machines and tubes he guided me through what was a perilous recovery . I am extremely grateful for his extraordinary skill , kindness and care . I cannot end without mentioning his respect toward my husband who was driving me mad and must have been doing the same to Dr Perrot . My husband harassed about anyone he could lay his hands on because he was full of fear . Dr Perrot answered his endless questions and offered him nothing but reassurance . For this he deserves a medal . Oh , and one other thing , the medical staff who cared for me were full of praise for him and told me all sorts of excellent stories that showcased what a truly remarkable Doctor and person he is . Nurses know . Linda Carruthers .

One year ago today our youngest son underwent the complex surgery of pulmonary endarterectomy at the Toronto General hospital under the direction of Dr. Marc de Perrot. Within a week the positive changes in his health became evident and over the past year his transformation has been amazing. He is working out and enjoying life and once again doing all those things a young man of 27 years should be doing. Words are not enough to express our sincere gratitude to Dr. de Perrot. all members of the CTEPH team, the nursing and indeed entire staff of the surgical ICU and thoracic wards. Thank you so much for your skill, empathy, and the caring and professionalism you demonstrated throughout our sons entire hospital and outpatient experience. Truly appreciated.

A year ago today we had the good fortune of having Dr. Marc de Perrot perform surgery on our Mother. He and the Thoracic Surgery Team at The Toronto General Hospital performed a pulmonary endarterectomy on our 81 year old mother. With this complex and delicate surgery he literally saved my mother’s life and changed the course of our family’s future. Within a short period of time after the surgery my mother knew the scar tissue that was lodged in her lungs was no more and she began to breath normally releasing the pressure on her heart and allowing her body to function normally. In addition, I cannot say enough about Dr. de Perrot’s dedication to my mother’s post-surgery care. The number of times he checked up on her and to look at her vitals to make decisions regarding her recovery in the two weeks she was in hospital was more than what we expected or could have imagined. I wonder if he ever stops working. In my mind he sets the bar for all other surgeons and doctors and is a model to be followed in his profession. He is a national treasure and we’re lucky to have him in Canada. I wish I could open a Wing at TGH in his name. There was no nurse or medical professional we encountered that didn’t have praise for Dr de Perrot. In addition the entire team from other doctors to nurses and administrative staff in MSICU, Stepdown and in the regular ward deserve mention for the disciplined and compassionate care given to my mother. One year later my mom is breathing easier and functioning in ways she never could have without Dr. de Perrot and his entire team. Thank you all. Sending you all blessings and gratitude daily but especially today on this first anniversary post-surgery! Still feeling very lucky!

Marc de Perrot is a brilliant, experimental surgeon who is absolutely devoted to his patients. He and his team treated my mother's mesothelioma and saved her life when other doctors were writing her off.

Dr De Perrot is an amazing surgeon who goes beyond to make sure his patient and their family have as much information to keep their mind at rest during this hard phase. My dad was admitted at Toronto General few days before Christmas, Dr De Perrot and his team made sure he got the care he needed despite having less staff due to holiday schedules. They did his surgery on boxing day and did an amazing job and was able to keep some of his left lungs and remove only the lower lobe. After when he got complications and ended up in ICU, he continued to check on him anytime of the day even on the weekends. I would recommend him to anyone without a second thought as my dad was on the border line of death and he saved him.
